Shirley Hani, a goddess, beyond compare.
Blue eyes sparkle, siren's call,
Tall, hourglass figure, makes Luna fall.
Insecurity's sting, a familiar pain,
Childhood scars, bullying's lingering stain.
5'5" and wheatish, brunette's pride,
Brown eyes shine, sharp features, nose wide.
Fat, a label, a lifelong weight,
Orphanage memories, a heartbreaking fate.
"Hi," Luna says, with hesitant tone,
Shirley's gaze sweeps, from head to toe, alone.
A curt response, a fleeting glance,
Luna's doubts swell, a second chance.
Shirley's voice, melodic, sweet,
A contrast to Luna's troubled beat.
Roommates bound, by circumstance's tie,
Luna adjusts, with a heavy sigh.
"Free at last," she whispers low,
But Shirley's stare, her confidence slows.
A fragile heart, with scars so deep,
Luna wonders, "Will I ever sleep?"
In this stranger's eyes, a reflection stares,
A reminder of past hurts, unhealed cares.
Yet, Luna stands, with determination bright,
To prove herself, shine through the night.
