She slowly climbed on top of the sill and stood there for a moment. The wind from the newly smashed window blew inside the building. Her hair gently flowed in the breeze and she tried to tame it. She took in a shaky breath of the night time air. A sort of peacefulness flowed into her body. She felt calm for a second and then remembered why she had done all this. The longer she looked out the window the more she saw, then she noticed something. A small white flower petal flew past the window in the breeze. Her mind was captivated by such a small thing, memories flooded back to her. A single tear fell from her face as she realized the situation she was in. She squeezed her eyes shut for a brief moment and when she reopened them her eyes met Borg's. She motioned to the window but he didn't budge. Her heart began to race a bit, the lights wouldn't be off for very long.

"Come on." She pleaded.

He shook his head after a few moments. He didn't say anything and she wanted to shout at him. She wanted to leave but she would never forgive herself for leaving him here. She recognized the fear in his eyes. He was too afraid of what could happen.

"Please." She whispered, trying to keep her voice down.

He turned his head away from her. The contraption began to move away and she panicked. She grabbed onto one of the legs and tried to pull it back. The contraption wouldn't budge this time. She wanted to scream at him as the lights began to flicker again. She wanted to yell at him. Then she noticed a screen attached to the front of the contraption. Surprised, she immediately let go. Pixal was flung back into the wall of the building. She groaned and hurriedly tried to get up. The lights had almost returned to their normal brightness. She looked at Borg one more time. He didn't meet her gaze. Tears welled in her eyes as she wanted to plead with him to come with her. But she didn't, she stayed quiet. The contraption walked towards the elevator and she was disheartened. With a small sigh she pushed the tears building in her eyes away. She looked outside at the empty city. She was only one step away from freedom. She reached out of the window and prepared to land on the concrete below. It wouldn't be the softest landing but anything was better than here. She filled her chest with air and exhaled to calm her nerves. She didn't look back.

The lights had turned on like normal as if nothing had happened. She sat on the sill and gently pushed herself to jump. Then a horrible shock erupted from her core. Pixal clutched her chest and tried to keep her balance. It grew more intense the longer she stood where she was. She screamed and her limp body fell backwards. Her back hit the tile hard and she screeched at the burning pain that followed. Her eyes had trouble staying open, all she could see was the blurry lobby. A tear dripped down her face when she realized what had happened. Then the screen above the double doors lit up.

"You thought you could just leave?!" It rasped at her.

Tears fell from her face at the pain inside her chest. But most of all they came from deep within. She was so close to leaving. It was her failure that made the tears come. The failure she felt in herself.

"This time I will never let you go!" The screen almost roared.

She couldn't move. Her body was stuck in this odd position on the cold tile floor. She could feel her mind being invaded again. She screamed as loud as her body would allow. The memories of last time filled her head and all she felt was terror. This time she fought against the darkness in her head. Tears streamed down her face as she tried to push the presence of the creature out. She balled her hands into fists and her body began to writhe on the ground like last time. She screamed louder but no words came out, just noise. Her teary eyes looked towards the double doors and noticed a car pass by. Her panicked mind only thought one thing. Pixal was only worried about her survival at this point.
