A few months ago, my book cover designer quit on me. To be fair, I'd sort of been expecting it for a while because her main interest wasn't in book cover design and it was a lot of work for something that she was never going to see again.

As a result of that, I sort of gave up on cover design for a while there, though I continued to write and save my work as drafts. My covers have always been halfhearted - usually photos that I took with my camera while I was out and about.

Something strange happened today.

I was sitting watching Twilight when I suddenly got another writing idea. I began to write the first few words as I normally do when I decided to check the Wattpad Covers app to see what options they had that would work with my idea. The problem was that I was on my desktop and I couldn't find the app - so I tried Google.

One of the results that I got was a YouTube video that talked me through how to make a better book cover using a different program - which I watched... and now I want to try learning how to make my own book covers.

I can't see the process being all that complex because I already have experience in making forum tags from kits, so I think that I should already know the basics of it.

Thinking about it, I can't help but feel excited for the first time in a long while because if I can learn how to do this, it's going to make me a much better writer here on Wattpad and open the doors for me to make my blogs so much better, too.

I might just get my hunger to write back to the levels that it was at when I first began to write online.
