Sorry for not updating recently. It turned out that I inadvertently signed up for a huge popularity contest over on Lettrs and I've been focusing all my energy on that.

What happened is that they posted an appeal for users to submit pictures that they could use for stamps.

Being an amateur photographer, one thing that you can be sure of is that I have plenty of ideas along those lines - so I submitted 15 pictures, which were all converted into stamps.

The following week, the staff launched the popularity contest. This means that we have to write a letter for each stamp that we submitted (yes, I have to write 15 letters that basically say the same thing in a different way), then get our friends on social media to like and comment on that letter. The winner will be the one with the most likes and comments.

In all honesty, I can't really be bothered with this side of it - as far as I'm concerned, I already won when they turned my work into stamps. The thing is that I want to tell them a little about the pictures I took - which is why I'm writing the letters... but I'm not promoting them because I don't do popularity contests for the simple reason being that it's always the little guy who loses out.

They don't know that I have a background in online promotion and can easily make or break them if I chose to do so.

I'm just going to settle for a position of a participant though - and sit the next popularity contest out. I can't be doing with them.

The picture is one of the 15 stamps that were made from my photography.
