What was happening right now? His legs felt numb before they gave out and he was paralyzed on the floor. The people running away from the scene didn't care enough to save a nobody like him.
"H...help..m..e..."
The student in that wolf-like monster's mouth tried to reach out his hand to the crowd, but his words were cruelly ignored by everyone. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth as his torso kept bleeding from the puncture wounds inflicted by the monster's teeth.
Suddenly, the body was dropped as the monster let out a deafening roar of pain, turning 2 of its 3 eyes to the source. It was no student or teacher that helped him though; it was another serpentine creature that had bitten the legs of the monster.
Instead of dying by splattering on the floor, the student's arm was bitten on by another bird-like creature. More and more swarmed around the fresh and bleeding meal, all trying to take parts of him to eat.
An unholy scream filled the air, one that someone couldn't imagine could come from the student that looked so close to death before. His desperate cries for help and pleads for his life only further enhanced the despair the others felt as they tried to fight off the incoming monsters.
Not long after the bird monsters had claimed their piece of the student's body did a light sprinkle of blood further dirty the students. Disgusting sounds of 'splat' were heard as bits and pieces of his organs landed on the floor, quickly being lapped up by the lesser creatures in the clearing.
Many of the other students that were fighting started profusely crying and screaming for their lives. That only made them more perceptible to the monsters though and they were soon cruelly torn apart and eaten like the first unfortunate student.
The large group of students were nearly halved from this one unexpected encounter. So many lives were lost, and for what? The only things they'd cleared were the puny creatures that crawled next to the real monsters and couldn't even surpass the height of their kneecaps.
"No! S-stop stop! I-I'll bring m-more food! Don't-!"
Another life was snuffed out so easily in front of him. Yet, he did nothing to help. All he could do was watch until he felt a warm liquid pool under him; it made he feel all the more pathetic.
Was it like this now? He so easily got scared of death he ended up pissing himself? If it was really like this then it was no wonder why he was going to die here.
"Ugh! What a pain!"
There was an annoyed voice that sounded from the sky. The male student could only wonder how someone could be annoyed at a bloody situation like this.
Suddenly, a body dropped from the sky, obscuring the sunlight in front of the male student. Blond hair scattered from the abrupt landing and the blade outstretched reflected the high sun.
Hero? No, was this God?
"Can you stand?"
The voice coming from the god-like hero finally processed in the male student's mind after a few seconds. He originally wanted to say yes, but considering he couldn't even put strength into his legs right now he didn't want to lie to the figure.
He shook his head from side to side reluctantly, hoping he wasn't causing too much trouble. A mysterious force yanked him up though into the sky next to the heartless person.
