...Indifference...

"Oho~ it's unlike you to send a warning shot little lady Diligence~!"

"Tsk! I thought the Overseer and the War God were suppose to be guarding the academy! So why in the world is there a demon's subspace counteracting my shots?!"

The silver haired Saint looked back at the man carrying her over his shoulder while at least stabilizing her legs from moving wildly with an irked expression. She could tell Rion had that frustratingly lazy smirk he always had even though he'd kept his gaze forward.

No, she shouldn't be caught up in her thoughts right now. They were in the middle of an important demon subjugation right now. She took a deep breathe before deciding her next course of action.

Taking a moment to disperse the magic used to create her sniping staff, Diligence closed her left arm's fist. And then, promptly thumped the bottom side of the fist onto Rion's head half-heartedly.

The person in question stopped immediately as he felt the little force she put into the hit on his head. That was usually the sign they needed to change positions.

"Turn around."

Now their views were reversed. Diligence could see the practically abandoned tower they were heading too and Rion could see the zombie-like students hunting them.

"Stop playing around and just knock them out already. The students still unaffected will take care of the bodies later."

"Huh~? I can't really do that with one hand now can I~?"

Another irk mark appeared on Diligence before she really hit the top of Rion's head with adequate force. She knew full well someone specifically assigned to her as a one-man army wouldn't be so weak as to lose to some academy students just because of a small handicap like that.

While she did understand why he wouldn't want to let her down with danger being all around them, it was still more efficient that way. It was a shame she would have to cut the time she could use this shameless man as a means of transportation short.

Sighing, the Saint turned around and leaped off the hand that was stabilizing her. A sulky expression was present on her face as she dug through her supply bag, taking out a necklace with her crossed wings insignia on it.

There were eight insignias in the Church each member had to wear to know who was working for who and to reduce the chance of miasma spreading. It was usually a great honor to receive one directly from a Saint with their holy power imbued, lessening the chance of miasma and injuries even more.

There was just one problem. Rion already had an insignia from the Pope's main branch on his neck. It was against conduct to accept a Saint's insignia without a proper ceremony while you are still working for the main branch.

"Don't give me that dumb look! Do you think I didn't know you were hesitant to put me down because it was a 'Little Lord' we were facing this time!? Just put this on and hurry up before I shoot you!"

Unlike the aloof and cold exterior she usually showed, Diligence once again let her mask slip in front of the man she relied on. It was in line with her awkward tsundere nature though.

Being stunned by the little lady's actions was something that occasionally happened to Rion. She'd show her care in the most roundabout way instead of right to his face. It actually made him a little excited to see what would happen if he called her out on it.

"Yes, yes, little lady Diligence~. I suppose this will be our little secret~?"

Diligence disliked the sleazy way the man said such a thing, but could not voice her complaints as he dashed off. It was truly a barbaric scene with the power he was putting into his hits sending shockwaves into the enemies that surrounded him.
