Lalisa, now back in the confined space of her cube, could feel the weight of the walls pressing in. It was small- barely enough room to breathe. The bed took up most of the space, and there was only a small table and wardrobe. She had long gotten used to this claustrophobic environment, but it never stopped reminding her of the cage she was in, both physically and mentally.
With quiet, deliberate movements, she slipped out of her cube and made her way to another one, just a few steps down the narrow hall. Her heart beat a little faster as she approached. She pushed the door open gently, her sharp senses already aware of the little girl inside.
Lalisa softly called
"Tzuyu?"
When Tzuyu saw Lalisa, her eyes brightened, and she sprang up, rushing into her arms.
Tzu Yu's voice muffled in Lalisa's chest
"Unnie! You're Late!"
Lalisa spoke with her voice tender, a side of her no one else ever saw.
"Yeah, Sorry about that."
Tzuyu clung to her tightly, as if afraid Lisa might disappear. Lisa sat down on the edge of the bed, gently caressing Tzuyu's hair. There was a protectiveness in her every touch as if this little girl was the only thing that truly mattered to her in this cruel place.
Lisa asked with concern in her voice
"Did they do anything to your stomach? Did they hurt you?"
Tzuyu shooked her head
"No, I've been good. They didn't do anything."
Lisa relaxed because she didn't trust a single soul there.
Lisa's jaw clenched at the thought of what had already been done to the poor girl. This place was hell, and Tzuyu was too young, too innocent to be trapped here. But Lalisa was already working on that.
Lisa held Tzuyu close.
"Good... That's good."
"Tzuyu, We'll be out of here soon, I promise."
Tzuyu looked up at her with wide eyes.
"Are we really leaving? You're not just saying that?"
Lalisa nodded, her eyes serious.
"I'm not just saying it. I've been working on this for a long time. We're going to have a new life outside this cage. No more of this... no more pain."
Tzuyu looked at Lalisa with a mixture of hope and disbelief. It was hard to imagine a life beyond the walls of this place, where cruelty was the norm. But Lalisa had always been her rock, her protector.
Tzuyu asked with her voice small.
"Will they hurt us when we try to leave?"
Lalisa shook her head, her voice firm.
"No. I've made sure of it."
Tzuyu hugged Lisa tighter, resting her head against her chest. Lisa's face softened as she looked down at the little girl she had sworn to protect. Her mind, however, was racing. For the past few years, she had been gathering every piece of evidence she could against the company human trafficking ring they were running, the experiments, the abuse.
No one ever suspected her. Why would they? Lisa, the "Project 2703," the one who never showed weakness, was untouchable in their eyes. But that made her the perfect mole.
Lisa said her voice low, almost a whisper
"The cops are coming soon. I sent them the location. When they raid this place, we'll be free, Tzuyu. Just a little longer."
