10 yrs later.
The morning sun filtered through the kitchen windows, painting the table in gold. Lisa sat in her workout gear, hair tied up, sipping her protein shake after flipping pancakes for everyone. Irene was across from her, still in a loose T-shirt and shorts, scrolling through some choreography notes on her tablet. Lily sat between them, neat uniform, posture calm, eating her toast like she had all the time in the world. They moved out to a house to a much bigger one.
Lisa quit the university and opened her own martial arts school, while Irene pursued being a choreographer. She was very popular and in demand in the industry, as the group was now on a long hiatus as everyone focused on their solo career.
Halfway through breakfast, Lily set down her fork and cleared her throat.
"Mama, Dada."
Lisa perked up, eyes soft but alert. Irene glanced at her daughter with a small smile.
"I... I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do."
Lily folded her hands neatly on the table.
"I want to study particle physics. I want to be a scientist."
There was no hesitation in her voice, just quiet determination.
Lisa grinned, nodding instantly.
"If that's what you want, you're in. 100%."
Lisa patted Lily's cheeks.
"Our baby's smart, and she's proud of what she wants. That's all that matters."
Irene's eyes softened.
"She's right. I'm so proud of you, baby."
Lisa leaned forward, chin on her palm.
"Whatever you do, Lily, we'll always support you. That's a promise."
Lily's lips curved into a soft smile.
"Thank you. I love you guys."
Both answered in unison, warm and easy,
"We love you too."
But then Lily cleared her throat again, fingers fidgeting with the edge of her sleeve. Her parents exchanged a knowing look; something was coming.
"I... I'm bisexual."
The words tumbled out quickly, and Lily's cheeks flushed.
Irene didn't even blink.
"I know. I saw you blushing at Ella."
"Maa!"
Lily's eyes widened in horror.
"That was supposed to be our secret!"
Lisa sat up straight, wide-eyed.
"Wait, when did you two start having secrets? That's not fair! And hold up, Ella? Jennie unnie and Seulgi's Ella?"
"Dada."
Lily sighed, rolling her eyes.
" I don't even know if Ella likes me back. That's why I didn't tell you, because you always freak out."
Lisa pressed a hand to her chest dramatically.
"How am I supposed to not freak out when my baby's about to leave me for Jennie and Seulgi's kid?!"
Irene reached over, smacking Lisa's arm lightly.
"Calm down, drama queen. She is sixteen."
Lisa ignored her.
