The Jeon mansion was in full swing with preparations for their daughter's first birthday. What was meant to be a small family gathering had somehow ballooned into an extravagant event, thanks to Jungkook's insistent brothers and Mrs.

Jeon's determination to show off her granddaughter to the world. A sea of flowers, decorations, and endless trays of food took over the grand hall.

Y/n, wearing a simple yet elegant white dress, was rushing around, trying to make sure everything was in place. Meanwhile, Jungkook, dressed in a sleek black suit with his signature devil-may-care grin, was trying to keep a fussy one-year-old from pulling his hair out. Quite literally.

Their daughter, Hana, was in one of her moods. Her tiny fists were clamped around Jungkook's hair as she perched on his shoulders, babbling angrily in a language only toddlers understood.

"I don't think she appreciates the party,"

Y/n laughed as she watched Jungkook wince while gently trying to pry Hana's fingers off his scalp.

"I don't think she appreciates me right now,"

Jungkook muttered, giving up and letting his daughter have her way. He turned his gaze toward Y/n, his eyes softening as he watched her rush about.

"But I appreciate you."

Y/n paused, feeling his gaze on her. She smiled and walked over, standing on her tiptoes to plant a quick kiss on his lips.

"I'm glad someone does."

Before Jungkook could pull her closer, Wonwoo and Si-woo burst into the room, their 2 year old Anzel bouncing excitedly in Si-woo's arms.

"Look at this place! Did we walk into a royal ball or something?"

Wonwoo teased, taking in the extravagant setup.

"I thought it was supposed to be a small birthday party, Jungkook."

"I had nothing to do with it,"

Jungkook raised his hands defensively.

"This is all Mom and Arlo's doing."

"Don't blame me!"

Arlo chimed in from the doorway, hands shoved into his pockets with a smug grin.

"I just suggested we do something nice. You guys went all out."

Mrs. Jeon, following closely behind Arlo, entered with an air of authority.

"It's her first birthday. There's no such thing as 'too much' for my granddaughter."

Y/n shook her head fondly.

"As long as we don't lose her in all this chaos, I'm happy."

"Don't worry—"

Jungkook said, holding their squirming daughter up.

"I've got her right—"

And then, as if on cue, Hana wriggled free and was off like a rocket, crawling towards the cake table with surprising speed for a one-year-old.

"Jungkook!"

Y/n exclaimed, laughing as she chased after their daughter.

Jungkook followed closely behind, but before he could reach Hana, the little girl pulled herself up using the tablecloth, her tiny fingers dangerously close to the edge of the towering cake.

"Oh no, no, no!"

Y/n swooped in just in time, lifting Hana into her arms before she could make a mess of the cake.
