Omniscient POV

Even though the bar was closed for the severe weather ahead, Ethan wanted to get caught up with the finances. In the small town of Westford, the weather was never this bad. The meteorologist predict that a huge thunderstorm would cause major damage followed by flooding. To keep his family safe he had advised everyone to head up to Boston and wait out the storm. He promised Savannah that he would meet them at the hotel.

Ethan logged off his computer and began gathering his belongings. He shutoff all the lights in the bar and locked up. He had forgot his umbrella in the car and tried to wait for the rain to let up, that definitely was going to happen.

He ran to the truck and quickly got in. Taking a deep breath he turned on the cool air then the warm in order to dry off. His cellphone started vibrating and he saw that it was a text from a unknown number. Ethan unlocked his phone and saw the stranger text.

" They found out!"

Ethan knew exactly who sent the text message, an old friend from the war. He knew that shit was about to hit the fan and they were coming after him. He started up the truck and quickly drove off to his house.

He parked his car in the garage and made sure the garage door was locked. He opened the door that connected the garage to the laundry room and slowly walked inside the house. Something was very eerie but he couldn't put his finger on it.

He walked to his office and took down a random painting, behind it was a safe. He entered the combination and emptied the contents into a duffle bag. Before leaving the office he went to his desk and opened the big drawer. Underneath a bunch of files was a burner phone, he grabbed it and walked out.

Ethan knew that he didn't have much time before they came, he sat the duffle bag on the living room table and a note on top for Savannah. He picked up the burner phone and called the one person who could help.

E: "How did they find "

....

E: "Do you think it's the time to give me the silent treatment?"

T: "Look dude I really don't know how they found out but shit is going to get real! We don't have much time before-"

E: "Travis? Travis!"

Ethan was beyond pissed at this point, the only person that could give him answers was gone. He knew that once Savannah found out who he really was, she would never forgive him.

He decided to call her.

S: "Baby is everything okay we've been worried sick?"

E: " Yeah I'm good I decided to stop by the house and get some clothes."

S: "Can you please get here as soon as possible? The weather is expected to get worse."

E: "I actually got a call from a friend of mine who works for the sheriffs department stand he was saying that all the roads heading to Boston was jammed up. His family owns house in Providence and I'm going to stay there just for tonight."

S: "Ok baby but please make it up here asap tomorrow. I love you!"

E: "You have no idea how much I love you too."

Ethan abruptly hung up when he heard the impatient knocking from the front door.He began walking to the front door but was interrupted when the door was kicked in. He tried walking upstairs but was roughly grabbed.

"Surprise motherfucker!" The sinister man said.

Ethan was picked up from the ground and threw up against a escalade. The bulky man who man handle Ethan padded him down and threw him in the backseat.

Ethan fixed his composure and looked forward, not wanting to converse with the man next to him.

"You know Ethan you were always one of the good ones, but the good die young my friend. You really thought that we weren't going to find out about your little business deal. Ethan my dear boy, you fucked with the wrong motherfucker." The man said and chuckled.

At this moment... he knew he fucked up.

Few Days Later...

Savannah hadn't talked on the phone with Ethan since the day he went to his bar. They constantly texted each other but she knew something was wrong. He was supposed to meet them at the hotel but never showed up. When she texted him he said that the traffic wasn't getting any better.

The weather died down and everything was going back to normal. The only damaged that was down was trees collapsing in the street and no lights in certain areas. Savannah wanted to go home and check on a few things. Kai decided to go with his uncle Bennie to the bakery.

When Savannah pulled up to the house she noticed that the front door was wide open. She turned off her engine and claimed out the car carefully. Since she was seven months pregnant she had to be extra careful not to hurt herself.

She entered her home and was in disbelief, her front door was completely kicked in. She closed the door best way possible and saw an mysterious bag on the coffee table. There was a note attach with "Savannah" written in big letters on the cover.

"Savannah you were the best thing that ever happened to me. I think that if you didn't enter my life I would've eventually spiraled out of control. I want you to know that it was never my intention to cause you pain but I guess I have that affect on people.

I will be gone for a while for some things I did in my past. I can't really get into detail but I severely fucked up and know I have to pay for it. I want you to know that I don't want you to wait for me, baby move on. You and the kids deserve a better life than this.

Just know that I love you always!"

Savannah reread the letter a few times just to make sure she wasn't going crazy. How could Ethan just walk away from the relationship? She began bawling and hyperventilating, she didn't want to get her pressure up because of the baby.

"How could he?" Savannah screamed while sobbing uncontrollably.

"Inmate 2005087914 You have a phone call from your lawyer!" The guard barked at the prisoner.

The prisoner hopped from his bunk and followed the guard into the phone room. The guard stood in the corner of the room directly looking at the inmate.

The inmate took a seat at the phone booth and picked up the phone.

"What the fuck do you want?"

" Sir, your request has been fulfilled. "

The inmate just smirked at his lawyer and got up from the booth.

"I'm back"
