As a child, the world is this big great thing with many windows to wander through.

As a child, the outside is a place of adventure.

As a child, parents are comfort

As a child, parents are protection

As a child, parents are strength.

As a child, love is love.. no complications.

As a child, eyes are to see and ears are to hear.

As a child, the sun is daylight and the moon is bedtime.

As a child, the only worries are monsters under the bed or in the closet.

As a child, the world is wonderful.

As a child, the world is mysterious.

As a child, the world is magical.

As a child, everything is innocence.

When is that innocence lost?

When do children lose their sense of wonder?

When do children lose their adventure?

When do children begin to view the world through eyes of sadness and hopelessness?

When do children realize the work that comes with life?

When do children lose the sparkle in their eye that lets them dream?

When do children begin to ask the wrong questions?

When do children stop looking for magic?

The day children lose the peace within their innocence is the day the world begins to diminish.

The beauty in the world doesn't change; the people who destroy it do.

The people who stop dreaming

the people who stop hoping

the people who stop wandering

the people who torture the beautiful.

Beauty isn't lost

Beauty isn't beaten.

Hope is lost

Magic is lost

Protection is lost

Adventure is lost

innocence is lost.

In today's society innocence is generally lost when something tragic happens, or right around middle school. But why do beauty, hope, love and wonder have to coexist with innocence?

Our innocence doesn't make us beautiful or wonderful.

Our innocence leaves us clueless to the world beyond ourselves.

Once it's gone, we either dread our lives or we realize what we have to live for.

Innocence isn't happiness, innocence isn't safe. Innocence is just a part of life we all endure; the real beauty of it all is knowing.

Knowing brings growth

Knowing brings pain

knowing brings truth

Knowing brings peace for moving forward

finally,

knowing brings worth.
