"How's Sasuke?" Y/N asked, gazing out the window, staying hidden from those outside.
"He's still recovering in the hospital," Kakashi replied. "He should be discharged soon."
Y/N nodded. "I'm sure. Kakashi, do me a favor, talk to him, please. I'm worried about him. He's getting worse, filled with nothing but hate and anger."
Kakashi shrugged. "He's a teenager."
"This isn't just teenage angst," Y/N said firmly. "He's like you were at that age... but meaner."
Kakashi deadpanned. "I wasn't that bad."
Y/N raised an eyebrow. "You sure about that?"
He sighed. "Didn't you leave us behind for five years? That was pretty mean."
Y/N rolled her eyes. "I had to. It was for Sakumo. How's he doing?"
Kakashi scoffed. "No idea. He's been away on a mission for a while. Who knows how long he'll be gone?"
"Hm," Y/N murmured. "You ever think they might be lying about the mission?"
"I wouldn't be surprised. But how's life in the Akatsuki? Is Itachi okay?"
"It's fine, all things considered. Itachi's managing... he wants to see you but knows the risks."
Kakashi nodded. "If he ever wants to visit or if I see you two around, let me know. It's been a while."
"We'll figure something out," Y/N said, sitting beside him. She leaned her head against his shoulder, and Kakashi placed his arm around her, holding her close.
"I know things are hard right now, but they'll get better."
"Yeah," she murmured.

The Next Day
"Sasuke's being discharged today," Kakashi told her.
Y/N exhaled in relief. "Good. I'll be leaving then."
"You don't have to go so soon," Kakashi said, stepping in her way.
"You know I can't stay here any longer," she said, crossing her arms. "Besides, you need to check on your team. Keep me posted about Sasuke." She leaned in, kissed him on the cheek, and turned to leave.
Kakashi gently pulled her back, kissing her softly. She smiled before vanishing from sight.
"I love you," he whispered into the empty room.

Y/N walked into the living room, noticing all the Akatsuki members—except Pein and Itachi—gathered there, staring at her.
