Chapter 28

The surroundings were covered in white snow-the buildings, trees, everything blanketed in a layer of snow. The street cleaners were busy clearing the roads, working hard to make them passable again.

Taehyung stared outside through the car's frosted window as it moved steadily along. Curled up against his chest, Jungkook was fast asleep. Taehyung looked down at him and smiled softly. The arm that held Jungkook close gently touched his head, while his other hand brushed the stray strands of hairs from Jungkook's forehead and tucked them behind his ear. He kissed the sleeping boy's forehead softly, pulling him a little closer to his chest. Then, turning to the driver, he asked for the car's heater to be turned on. Taehyung gazed at Jungkook's small fingers, now cradled in his own hand, and began to play with them absentmindedly. He loved this small act-it had become one of his favourite things to do lately. His affection for Jungkook had grown, along with a deeper desire to feel loved in return.

At seven in the morning, Taehyung had woken Jungkook up forcefully. Having gone to bed late, Jungkook could barely open his eyes. Fearful of Taehyung's temper, he dragged himself out of bed, half-asleep, and quickly freshened up and got ready. Today, they were heading to their private estate in southern area of Daegu-a plan Taehyung had made the previous night. Originally, Taehyung had planned a honeymoon abroad, but Minho had escaped again the night before. His guards were frantically searching for him but hadn't been able to track him down. Minho had gone into hiding, but Taehyung knew he couldn't escape for long. Even if he was hiding underground, Taehyung would find him and end him.

Choi Minho now knew Taehyung's greatest weakness-Jungkook. He was aware that hurting Jungkook would hurt Taehyung, and Taehyung couldn't let that happen. Anyone who dared to harm Jungkook would be wiped from this earth-destroyed completely. Taehyung wasn't willing to take even the smallest risk with Jungkook's safety, which was why their honeymoon was on hold until Minho was found. To bridge the growing emotional gap between them and allow Jungkook to enjoy the fresh air outside the confines of their home, Taehyung had decided to take him to the old Kim mansion once again.

As they arrived at the entrance of their mansion, two guards opened the gates from either side. The car stopped at the main entrance, and one of the guards opened the door next to Taehyung. Without leaving the car, he handed his jacket to the guard, then stepped out and carefully lifted Jungkook into his arms. Carrying him gently, Taehyung walked inside the house and up to their room on the second floor. Once inside, he laid Jungkook on the bed and wrapped him snugly in a fluffy blanket. Leaning down, Taehyung kissed Jungkook's forehead before heading to the washroom to freshen up.

Around eleven in the morning, Jungkook woke up. Looking around the room, he was startled at first but then remembered where he was. He glanced around searching for Taehyung. Taehyung was nowhere in the room, but a shadow on the balcony suggested he was out there. Jungkook got out of bed and went to the washroom to freshen up. After putting on a blue cotton jumper and loose pyjamas, he came out and saw Taehyung sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, scrolling through his phone. Jungkook quietly picked up the hairdryer from the dressing table and walked over to Taehyung, standing in front of him with his head down.

Seeing Jungkook standing in front of him, Taehyung smiled softly, put his phone on the table, and took Jungkook's hand, guiding him to sit on the stool in front of him. He began drying Jungkook's hairs. It had become a habit for both of them now-Taehyung always helped dry and brush Jungkook's long hairs and Jungkook his.
