Dressed in a white kitchen apron and gloves, Taehyung was slicing onions with surprising ease. His actions were swift and precise, as if he were a skilled chef, even though he had never cooked in his life. Today, however, he found himself cooking to fulfil Jungkook’s request. For someone who had never even made a glass of juice before, whose every task had a designated person to take care of it, Taehyung's presence in the kitchen was almost unbelievable. Yet, it wasn’t shocking to those who knew him because Taehyung could do anything for Jungkook.

Jungkook, bored and frustrated after eating only soups and healthy meals throughout the day, had grown tired of the monotony. Despite feeling slightly feverish, Jungkook rejected everything he was given, claiming, “I’m not hungry.” But when pushed to eat, Jungkook made one thing clear,

--" If I eat, it has to be chicken fry, and it must be made by Taehyung.

And so, Taehyung had no choice. Carrying Jungkook in his arms, he brought him to the kitchen, placing him on a chair nearby. Taehyung had instructed all the servants to leave and warned them not to disturb him. Out of both fear and respect, they stayed outside the kitchen, waiting in case Taehyung needed anything. While the rest of the household was initially surprised by Taehyung’s actions, they soon laughed it off and returned to their tasks.

Wearing the apron with utmost confidence, Taehyung began preparing all the ingredients, following steps meticulously from a YouTube tutorial. His speed and focus made him look like a professional chef. Jungkook, who was swinging his legs, sat watching with wide eyes, astonished by how gracefully Taehyung handled everything.

To keep Jungkook engaged, Taehyung sliced some salad and apples and handed them to him. Jungkook, without uttering a word, began munching on the slices, his eyes never leaving Taehyung as he worked. Taehyung paid no mind to Jungkook’s gaze, concentrating on completing his task. Once everything was ready, Taehyung started cooking, his movements swift and elegant.

Jungkook, unable to hide his admiration, smiled and said with a playful tone,

--" Wow! You’re surprisingly good at cooking. But remember, the credit for all this goes to me.

Lowering the heat of the stove, Taehyung turned to Jungkook, bending slightly so that their faces were almost level. With a raised brow and a sly smile, he asked,

--" And why is that?

Jungkook shifted his head slightly to the side, biting an apple slice and mumbling in a quiet voice,

--" Of course, it’s because of me. You’re only cooking today because I asked you to. Even if it’s through a tutorial, the reason is still me. So yes, I take all the credit.

Smirking, Taehyung leaned closer, tilting Jungkook’s chin back slightly and letting their foreheads touch. His voice dropped an octave as his eyes shifted to Jungkook’s lips.

--" And do I get no credit at all? Maybe for being the best husband or, I don’t know, the best kisser?

Hle teased, raising his brow again.

Jungkook, startled by the sudden closeness, felt his throat tighten, causing him to cough on the apple he had just swallowed. The sight of him struggling made Taehyung’s teasing expression vanish in an instant. His brows furrowed in concern as he scolded,

--" Jungkookie! Be careful when you eat! You’re so careless sometimes, what if something happens to you?

Taehyung stroked Jungkook’s hair gently and handed him a glass of water. After a few sips, the hiccups finally stopped. Relieved but wanting to shift the mood, Jungkook crossed his arms and huffed,
