It was a pitch-black night, with not a trace of anyone around. A fierce storm had raged through the evening, and heavy snowfall had buried trees and roads under a blanket of white. Nothing was visible in the darkness; people had abandoned their tasks and hurried home before the storm hit, while those left behind likely wouldn't return tonight.

The clock had passed nine and was nearing ten, and the whole of Daegu lay silent. Most people had eaten and gone to sleep. Due to the storm, the main power was out, leaving many homes without electricity, though some were lit by generators. Others had turned off their lights and drifted off to sleep.

The entire Kim estate was brightly illuminated, the intensity of the lights almost giving the illusion of daytime, but it was night. The guards wore long jackets with hoods as they continued their duties. Despite the cold and the storm, they had no respite. Suddenly, they saw a sleek black car approaching the gate, and one of the guards quickly opened it.

The storm had subsided, now only a gentle snowfall fell, and the wind was much calmer. A guard stepped out with an umbrella as Taehyung exited the car, striding purposefully into the mansion. Without looking around, he went straight up to his room. Entering, he saw Jungkook fast asleep, clutching a pillow tightly and pouting in his sleep.

Jungkook had been asleep since the afternoon and hadn't stirred even once. Taehyung had checked with a maid several times to see if Jungkook had woken up, but Jungkook, exhausted, had remained in deep slumber. Sighing, Taehyung removed his hat and placed it on the table, then approached Jungkook. Looking at his sleeping face, he smiled softly and gently kissed his forehead, keeping his hands carefully away to avoid touching him.

After lightly brushing his lips against Jungkook's skin, he went to the washroom to freshen up. He wouldn't let himself touch his beloved until he'd washed his hands-hands that had, once again, taken a life.

He had rid the world of garbage.

Someone dared to harm his beloved, and he had put an end to it, bit by bit, taking his time to deliver the suffering. The man had no right to live after causing Jungkook pain. A deep sense of satisfaction washed over Taehyung as he recalled the slow torment he had inflicted. Standing under the shower, he looked down at his hands, blood dripping from them.

Taehyung let out a mocking laugh and muttered through gritted teeth,

--" You shed blood, and I've shed double. Why should you suffer alone? I'll crush every ounce of your pain.

He declared, slamming his fist against the wall, causing more blood to ooze from the cut. Glancing at the wound, he finished his shower and left.

Wearing a black t-shirt and trousers, he came out of the washroom, drying his hair with a towel. Jungkook lay exactly as before, sound asleep without the slightest movement. Taehyung had given him a painkiller along with a sleeping pill so he wouldn't wake up until he returned.

For anyone else, the effect would have lasted two hours at most, but Jungkook hadn't stirred or even moved. Taehyung watched him for a while, then took out the first-aid kit from the drawer. He washed and disinfected his hand, applying medicine and wrapping a bandage around it, though it wasn't perfect since it was his right hand. Whenever he was injured, Taehyung treated himself, never allowing anyone else to touch him.

Even when if Jin offered to help, he would say, 'I prefer to take care of my own needs, eomma. Please don't worry.' To show pain was to show weakness, and he would never allow himself to appear vulnerable. Now that everyone knew his weakness, he would have to be even more careful.

After glancing once more at Jungkook, Taehyung picked up his phone from the table, called a servant, and instructed them to bring dinner upstairs.
