*THUMP!*

D-16 grabbed Orion Pax's servo just in time, saving his best friend from falling to the large empty well below the. "No. No, no, no, no, no!" The silver mech muttered, regret and disbelief filling his voice as he looked at the injured mech. "Why... Why did you do that!? Why!?" He demanded.

The Codex felt like his whole world was falling to pieces before his functioning optic. His left optic flickered as he struggled to process everything that occurred in a matter of seconds. His broken defective screen optic managed to only display the Celtric star emblem displayed on it.

"No. No, this..." The Codex shook his helm, falling to his knees. "[GUILT] This can't be happening." (Y/Cyb/n) monotonously stammered, his voice filled with terror.

He should've been faster. He should've taken the hit. He should've been the one. Not Orion Pax. He should've stopped D-16. He should've thought about everything that could've led up to this moment.

The Codex felt the overwhelming surge of negative emotions in his spark; the intense sense of shock, horror, and guilt as he was forced to witness the terrible scene. His processor went into overdrive as he struggled to process what was happening, his thoughts racing.

His functioning optic was filled with coolant. His vision was blurry from the tears that streamed down his face. His spark felt heavy, his chassis felt like a heavy weight was crushing it, and his body trembled with the overwhelming emotion.

What have you done?

You did what you had to do.

Why did he have to do this!?

He was only getting in the way.

He was our friend!

He was holding us back!

He wasn't our enemy!

Sentinel took everything from us, and Orion was stopping us!

The Codex's body trembled slightly, listening to two new voices in his helm. They were both mind and spark unionized, but despite their similarities, they had different ideals. One told him he should be worried about his friend, who was now dying. The other told him it was all part of his rightful revenge to get at Sentinel—cutting off connections and ensuring they wouldn't get in the way.

(Y/Cyb/n) could feel a sense of dread and guilt creeping into his spark. Seeing Orion dangling off the edge, held by D-16's servo, and severely injured, with oils seeping out of the wounds, made the Codex feel sick.

D-16's breathing was heavy as he conflicted between reason and emotion, his desperation and anguish forming into anger. "D..." Orion weakly gasped, his blue optics widening in fear. "No..."
