Together Forever- A Nick and Charlie Story

Charlie's pov
As we are driving I can not take my eyes off of Summer. She has strawberry blonde hair like Nick and the brightest blue eyes like mine. "How's our girl going back there" Asks Nick from the drivers seat. He looks at me through the rear vision mirror and smiles. "She's all good, I think she's ready to meet her big siblings though" I reply. "Well she's in luck then because we're here!" Says Nick excitedly as he pulls into the driveway of his mums house. I can see Colton, Hazel and Sarah all waiting on the front steps, waiting to meet the newest Nelson. As I'm getting Summer out of the car seat I feel a tiny pair of hands wrap around my lower leg. "Daddy I missed you" I hear a tiny little voice say. Of course it's my Hazel. "I missed you too honey, are you ready to meet your baby sister?" I ask her while holding Summer in my arms so Hazel can see her. "I'm ready Dada" she replies. "Go sit on Nana's couch and you can hold her okay baby" Nick says while locking up the car. Hazel grabs Nicks hand and drags him inside. I give Sarah and Colton a hug on my way up to the house. "Hey buddy, you ready to meet your new little sister too?" I ask while hugging my eldest baby. "I'm ready Dada" replies Colton. "Okay let's go inside and you can hold her" I say. I chat with Sarah for a while and thank her for looking after Colton and Hazel, while Nick is inside getting the kids ready to meet Summer.

Nicks Pov
Colton and Hazel are both sitting on the couch in my mums living room. I'm setting up pillows around them so they're ready to hold Summer when Charlie brings her inside. Both kids are very excited to meet their new baby sister. Hazel can barely contain her excitement. Charlie walks into the living room holding the newest addition to our family. Hazel wants to hold her first. "Okay baby, just be very gentle okay" I remind Hazel as she's only 3 and has never held a baby before . '"Yes Papa" she replies innocently. Charlie carefully places Summer in Hazels lap, making sure that Summers head is propped up carefully on the pillows i set up. "What her name Dada" Asks Hazel. "Her name is Summer Annabel Nelson" Charlie replies with a big smile on his face. "Beautiful name you too" Sarah says. She's leaning against the door frame of the living room. "Thanks mum" I reply. "I like her name too Papa" Says Colton who is sitting on the couch next to his 2 sisters. "Thanks buddy" I reply. "Papa I love her" Says Hazel, not taking her eyes off her new little sister. I see her eyes welling with tears of joy. "Aww baby we love her too" I reply. "Okay baby I think it's Colton's turn to hold Summer" Says Charlie. Hazel gives him a disapproving look as she wants to keep holding her sister but eventually she gives in and let's Colton have a turn. "She has hair like me daddy" Says Colton while holding Summer and playing with her hair softly. "Yeah she does buddy" replies Charlie. "I love her, I promise i'll help with her at home all the time" says my oldest son. He's the sweetest. I'm so grateful that Colton and Hazel have grown up into such amazing kids. I'm positive that they're going to be a great help with the newest little Nelson. I'm so glad that both Colton and Hazel love their new sister. I'm hoping she's a reasonably quiet baby so they still love her after we bring her home tonight. We say goodbye to my mum, strap all three kids into their car seats and off we go. Our first night as a family of 5 awaits us. Wish us luck.
