Family Meetings

Nick's Pov

It is now the end of the school day. I've packed up all my stuff and I'm now walking to my car ready to drive home. Colton insisted on taking the bus home today so he will be home before I am. Charlie is at home with the girls today anyway.

I pull my car into our driveway and see Charlie sitting on our front steps with Summer in his arms while Hazel is running around in our front yard. I jump out of the car and walk over to see them.

"Papa!" Hazel yells as she runs at me.

"Hey Princess, how was your day" I ask while picking her up.

"Was good Papa. Me and Daddy and Summy made cookies!"

"That sounds like fun baby" I say while putting her back on the ground so she can run around and play.

I walk over to Charlie and Summer next.

"Hey love" Charlie says to me as I sit down on the step next to him. I take Summer out of his arms and exhale.

"Hey" I reply while laying my head on Char's shoulder.

"Tough day huh?" He asks

"Definitely"

Summer babbles at me cutely.

"Where's Colton?" I ask

"He's up in his room. Can you explain to me what happened please because he has been so quiet all afternoon" Charlie says, sounding a bit worried.

I sigh.

"I caught him holding hands in my classroom this morning in the dark with a little girl. I told him I wasn't mad or anything, I just needed to talk to you about it first"

"So that's what the family meeting you called tonight is about?" He asks

"Yeah, what do you think about it? I mean he's definitely too young to date or anything right? I mean he's just a baby."

"He's not really a baby anymore love, he's 9 years old. I do agree that 9 is too young to date but if they're not doing anything bad then I don't really see what's wrong with it? I mean at that age they think a girlfriend is literally just a girl that's their friend." Charlie explains.

"Yeah that is true, and I know he's a good kid. I just get worried about this sort of stuff"

"I know you do, and it's okay to be worried. But he is going to grow up eventually"

"Yeah you're right. Family meeting after dinner?" I suggest.

Charlie nods and smiles.

"Come on Haze, time to come inside" Charlie's yells out.

"Nooo daddy I don't want toooo" She replies

"Papa will give you a bath tonight if you come in baby" I say

"Yayyy" Hazel yells while running inside.

Charlie shakes his head while he takes Summer inside.

I walk inside with Hazel holding onto my fingers. We walk upstairs to her room to get her clothes. She picks out a pair of purple long sleeved pyjamas to wear. We then walk to the bathroom, set Hazels pyjamas on the bench and I start to run her a bath. Since Hazel is 4 she can bathe herself she just needs help running the water. I always keep an eye on her as well. Once Hazel is in the bath I decide to go check on Colton as I haven't seen him since this morning.

"I'm gonna go see Colton, I'll be back baby" I tell Hazel as I leave the bathroom.

I think she's to busy playing with her toys to even notice I left.
