Nicks Pov–
I wake up this morning and the air smells funny. It's a rainy cold winter day. I roll over to face my husband Charlie in bed. I pull myself closer to him wrapping my arms around him, making him the little spoon. I look over at the clock on our wall. It reads 7:30am. I sigh. The kids should be awake by now. I give Charlie a kiss on the cheek then go to check on the kids. I reach Colton's room first. I open his door slightly and peek through. Still sound asleep. It's Saturday today so I decide to let him sleep a bit longer. Next I walk across the hall to Hazel's room. I peek through her door and see her sitting up in her crib holding her teddy bear. She's rubbing her eyes and looks very pale."Morning Princess" I whisper, walking over to her crib. "I no feel good papa" she says, tears welling in her eyes. I pick her up out of her crib and give her a hug. She feels very warm. "Let's go downstairs and check your temperature baby" I say. When I reach the kitchen and grab the thermometer I check her temperature. It's definitely high. I make her a bottle then sit her on the couch when suddenly I hear someone rush to the bathroom. Uh oh. I run up the stairs and knock on the bathroom door. "Papa I feel sick" says Colton from inside the bathroom. The toilet flushes and Colton walks out. His cheeks are red and he's sweating. "Come on let's get you downstairs" I say rubbing his back. I grab a water bottle and fill it up while Colton sits in the living room with Hazel. I give Colton his water and walk upstairs to wake Charlie up.
I walk into Charlie and I's room and he's still sleeping peacefully. "Morning Char" I say rubbing his back and giving him a kiss on the head. He groans and slowly opens his eyes. "We've got two sick kids today, how lucky are we" I say sarcastically. Charlie looks worried. "Come on let's go downstairs" I say. I hold his hand as we walk downstairs together. Colton and Hazel are half asleep on the couch, pale and sweating. Hazels only got a nappy on and Colton's only wearing his pyjama shorts. They're both watching Wreck It Ralph on the TV. Charlie and I cuddle up with them on couch playing with their hair and comforting them. We stay like that pretty much all day, in our pyjamas and watching movies. I think to myself, as much as I hate seeing my kids sick I really do love days like this.
