Nicks Pov–
I walk into Coltons room this morning to wake him up for school like I do every other day.

"Morning buddy" I say rubbing his back gently to wake him up.

Usually he would cover himself back up in all the blankets and say
"Five more minutes Papa" and then "I don't wanna go to school today, I hate school"

but today was different.

"Morning Papa" He said sounding chirpy. Then he got out of bed straight away. I didn't even have to ask him twice. Which is very unusual for Colton. Colton's a smart kid but he struggles to stay focused in school. He always says that he only likes school because he gets to see his friends. Which is fair enough.

As Colton had gotten up straight away I then left his room so he could get changed. After I had walked downstairs, I must of only been in the kitchen for two minutes before Colton comes skipping down the stairs, fully dressed in his uniform with his shoes and socks on. I think he has even combed his hair? Which is very different for Colton as he usually has messy blond surfer hair.

Charlie walks down the stairs.

"Uhm who are you and what have you done with my son" Charlie asks jokingly.

Colton giggles

"it's still me dad i'm just excited about school today so I wanted to be ready" He says giggling again.

Charlie just shrugs it off and walks into the living room to set Summer on her play mat before he goes to get Hazel ready for nursery.

I had made Colton two pieces of jam on toast for breakfast which he ate instantly. I then gave him his ADHD medication so it kicked in before school started. Colton was diagnosed with ADHD when he first started school. He was always a very hyperactive kid who had trouble focusing for long periods of time. We took him to a psychiatrist who started him on ADHD medication and he's been doing much better. Although he is still very hyperactive he's a very mature and respectful kid and we love him for that. Colton put his plate in the dishwasher and ran upstairs to clean his teeth.

As Colton was running upstairs, Charlie was coming down the stairs with Hazel in his arms. When Colton rushed passed Charlie , Charlie gave me a look that said wow why isn't he like this every morning.

"I wonder what he's so excited about?" Charlie asked

"I'm not sure but whatever it is i'm going to get the school to do it everyday. It's not even 7:30am and he's nearly fully ready" I say

Charlie then starts to make Hazel some breakfast while I get Summers bottle ready. Once both of the girls are fed I walk upstairs so I can get ready for work. I walk past Colton's room and see him packing his school bag which usually he always asks Char to pack it for him about 5 minutes before we leave. I walk to Charlie and I's room so I can get changed. Once I'm ready I walk downstairs to see Colton sitting in the kitchen with his school bag on his back, fully ready for school. We don't need to leave for another half hour.

"You're ready early today bud, we don't have to leave for another half hour yet so do you wanna watch a show with the girls before we leave? I ask him

"Actually Papa can we go to school a bit earlier today? I just really wanna get to school" How can I say no to that? The kid who never wants to go to school, actually wants to go to school? And wants to go early?
