Hazel's First Day <3

Nicks pov
I can't believe today is my baby girls first day of nursery. I got a substitute to cover my classes for the morning as Charlie and I both agreed to take her to her first day together as we didn't know how she would react. Although she's very academically advanced for her age, Hazel is still a shy kid. She reminds me a lot of Charlie. I got her dressed for the morning in some pink denim shorts and her favourite disney princess t shirt. I packed her lunch into her bag which is bigger than her, made her breakfast and put her cute little pink sparkle Vans on. Charlie walks down the stairs and Hazel runs over to him. "Dada what if i no like nursery" I hear Hazel whisper while tugging on Charlie's pant leg. He picks her up while I walk over to them. "Baby if you don't like it there Daddy won't make you go again tomorrow I promise we just want you to make some friends. Charlie says. The truth is we don't even have her booked in for tomorrow. Charlie and I only booked her in every second day just so she can get used to it before the new baby comes.
"Come on baby let's get going" I say. Charlie had walked Colton to the bus stop earlier this morning so he's already on his way to school. I strap Hazel into her car seat while Charlie hops into the passenger seat. I kiss Hazel on the head, shut the door and drive to nursery. Once we get there Charlie gets Hazel out of her car seat and we all walk in together. I could see Hazel buried into Charlie's shoulder so I was getting a bit worried but that soon faded as I saw Hazels eyes light up at the sight of all the toys and arts and crafts when we walked in. Charlie and I met Hazels teacher who was absolutely lovely which also made my worries ease. Charlie put Hazel down on the floor and we both hugged her goodbye. She quickly ran off to go and play with the other children. We walked out, Charlie's head on my shoulder and holding on to my arm. Tears filled our eyes. We definitely weren't this emotional with Colton.

Later that day

Charlie's Pov
After we had dropped Hazel at her very first day of nursery, Nick had dropped me home so I could clean the house and do some groceries while he went to work. Hazel finishes Nursery at 2pm and Nick doesn't finish work until 3:30pm. So I went to go pick up Hazel. As soon as I walked in the door of the Nursery Hazel runs and jumps into my arms. "Hi baby, you had a good day?" I ask with the biggest smile on my face. "I love nursery Dada" She replies hugging me. "That's great princess, you can tell Papa all about it when he gets home tonight" I say hugging her back. I thank her teacher while Hazel says goodbye to all of her new friends. We walk out to the car, hand in hand while she tells me all about her day. "I painted a picture for you and papa it's in my bag, ooh and I played barbies with my new friend Alyssa, ooh and I played pretend that I was a chef with my new friend Elsie too Daddy" She babbled on excitedly all the way to the car. "That's great honey, I'm sure papa will love to hear how much you loved Nursery when he gets home" I say while strapping her into her car seat. I turn the car on, put my seat belt on, reverse out of the car park and we're not even half way home when Hazel falls asleep. I call Nick to tell him that nursery was an absolute success. "I did miss my baby all day though she's growing up to fast" I say on the phone to Nick. "I know Char, but it's a good thing she liked it, imagine how hectic it would be having Haze and a newborn at home on your own" Nick replies. "Yeah that's true, I love you." I say. "I love you too Char, drive safe. replies Nick. I love our little family, and I'm so proud of all of them. I can't believe we're going to have another little baby to love in a few days. I think to myself, trying to contain my excitement. I can't wait.
