Dejhari held Khalil close to his chest as he waited for the papers out of the printer. He had a pacifier attached to his shirt and a burping cloth over his shoulder as Khalil looked around the office space. Dejhari had to work today so he brought Khalil in with him because he had no other choice. He knew that Kataleya would've been pissed if he sent him back over his mom's house.
"He is so cute. Look at those chubby cheeks!" Kayla, his new secretary said as she walked cooed at Khalil. He just stared at her with wide eyes as slob fell onto his bib. Dejhari just watched the interaction between the two with a smirk. He knew his son would grab attention because he was chubby and chocolate.
"Say thank you Lil." Dejhari said waving Khalil's arm. He grabbed the papers and started making his way to his office as Kayla followed. She made faces at Khalil as they walked inside which kept him entertained. "So, I need you to cancel my meetings for today. I can't meet with nobody and I got my son here."
"All of your meetings? Even the one with the people for the grant? And the builders? They're supposed to be coming in to talk about the renovations and the new lot. Something about flooring. You don't wanna just do it all over the phone? Maybe during his nap?" Kayla pushed, Dejhari huffed.
He leaned back in his seat and thought deep about it. Khalil did take naps and even when he was woke he wasn't a loud baby at all. He actually just sat there and stared mostly but he didn't want anyone around his son. He didn't even want many people knowing he had one due to past moments. He wanted to keep his personal life private and his work life professional.
"Ok, I can take the one with the people from the grant and some with the builders. I think they wanna go over the blueprint all over again but it needs to be virtual only. I can meet with the architect but the grant people cannot come into this office." He said shaking his head. Kayla nodded her head leaving his office.
She didn't know what to think but she knew not get involved in any of his business dealings. She grabbed the phone and quickly dialed the number of the secretary of the grant agency. She knew she had to make the call quick before they were on their way.
"Hello?" The man said into the phone. She was a little nervous on canceling but she would rather deal with the smart remarks through the phone than lose her job. Dejhari wasn't the most understanding when it came to the work settings. He wanted things done a specific way and if they weren't done that way then he wasn't always the nicest.
"He need to speak to him. Virtually only."

Kataleya carried Khalil on her hip as she walked down the steps with her chubby side kick. Khalil was now 6 months and he was getting bigger by the day. He was still drinking strictly breast milk but they were considering introducing puree into his diet.
Kataleya walked into the office space where Dejhari sat at the computer with his cup of coffee in hand. She hated that he drank coffee so much but she knew that it came with his late nights and early mornings working on his new business venture. He was now working on opening apartment buildings for low income families in the neighborhood near his first community center.
"Baby, when are we going to see the new house?" Kataleya asked walking over to the desk. She eyed her boyfriend before pouting at him a little. She could tell that he was tired of working so much so she knew it was time to look into a vacation for them but she didn't know where to go. "I really want that one we saw the other day. When can we close?"
