•Chapter XXII:Breaking the curse•

A valley was straight in front of the boys' eyes.The horses galloped fast,so it was hard for the prince to perceptate what was in front of him.

Finally,they killed the witch,so probably she won't come back to do more evil things,like curses.But the mission wasn't done yet.The last thing they have to do is save the Ice Kingdom prince,Choi Beomgyu,who was now sleeping because of a curse.

On Soobin's face,it couldn't express any emotions.Kai was struggling to keep his balance during the ride.The servant wasn't used to riding horses,so it was for the first time.But the boy was pretty good at it.

The prince should focus on the road.They were almost there,at the palace,where the rest were waiting.He hoped that everything was okay during their adventure.

After a few times passed,a wide construction was straight in front of them.

The palace!

But Taehyun felt like something was wrong.The palace was covered in a thick layer of ice.The prince started to think about how the royals were staying inside and how the guards were struggling to open the big doors.

What happened here?...

After finally arriving in front of it,they rapidly got down from the horses and headed to the door.On an accident,Kai flipped on the stairs and fell on the ground.Taehyun and Soobin fliched and looked back at him.

"Are you okay?"Soobin asked,analyzing Kai's body in case of any fracture.

"No,I am okay.But be careful,it is very slippery."

Taehyun nodded and tried to open the door.But he immediately retreated his hands and groaned in pain because of the cold ice that froze his hands.

Soobin was a bit worried.He punched the door with his foot,but instead of opening it,he almost fell,slipping on the ice.

"Damn!"Taehyun cursed out."We need to get in!"

The servant near him started to think for a solution.And fastly,an idea came up in his mind.

"Come with me."

Soobin jumped after stairs,in case he fell like Kai did.Taehyun did the same and followed him along with Kai.

Soobin led them into the edge of the palace to a dead end.Taehyun raised a brow,confused.The servant bent on his knees,starting to dig into the snow.The boys were just glaring at him questionably.The servant rolled his eyes.

"Are you gonna help me or what?"

After hearing Soobin's anger tone,Kai and Taehyun both started to dig in the snow, too.After seconds of digging,a door could be spot.Soobin clunched his fist and punched the door to break the layer of the ice.

The ice is broken,revealing a rusty door.Soobin picked up the handle,stood up, and dragged the handle.The door opened.A passage,more like a tunnel,was straight in front of the boy's eyes.Kai and Taehyun's jaw dropped.

"How did you d - "

"You are not the only one who knows secret passages about this palace."Soobin interrupted Taehyun's words,glaring at him,smirking.

Taehyun just rolled his eyes,thinking about the secret passage that the boys used to escape from the palace at the beginning of the mision.Without any words,in order,they entered the tunnel.

The tunnel was getting dark at how deep you were going to enter,and it was very cold,down,under the ground.But Taehyun didn't cared about all of this stuff.The most important think is to save Beomgyu.

Time passed,and the end of the tunnel could be clearly see.They were in the halls.Soobin was going straight,walking fast,but Kai clunched Soobin's cloth,making the older stop.

"What h - "

But before he could finish his question,a sharp piece of ice appeared out of nowhere from the floor,almost stabbing the servant.

"That was close."Kai breathed a sign of relief."We need to be careful."

Soobin nodded before carefully walking towards the prince's room,where Yeonjun,the king, was waiting for them.Each step they were made was slowly,and with short steps,they reached the room.

Taehyun pushed the door,but it seemed like it was frozen.Soobin tried to,but nothing worked.But Kai was getting a few steps away from the door.Breathing deeply,he runned towards it and pushed with all of his force.

The door opened.Taehyun couldn't believe what it was in front of his eyes.Yeonjun was lying on the ground unconscious, and the room felt extremely cold than the halls.Beomgyu was still laying on the bed,with his eyes closed.

Taehyun observes that the sharp pieces of ice that almost stabbed Soobin,where getting closer to Beomgyu's body.Taehyun instinctively pulled the knife from his pocket and split the Ice in two.

Kai rushed and picked Yeonjun up and verified his heartbeat.Hopefully,the king was still breathing.Soobin got from his bag the rose that they picked from the witch's garden.Glaring at Taehyun,he said something.

"Ready?..."

Taehyun and Kai nodded,gulping.The prince hoped that it would work and Beomgyu would wake up.If not,the whole road they travelled was just a waste of time.

Soobin slowly approached the sleeping prince slowly,with the almost melted rose in his hands.Getting the flower closer to the boy's mouth,a few drops from the melted flower ended on Beomgyu's pale lips and in the mouth.

The servant let more translucency liquid to melt.After,he slowly took a few steps back,glaring at the prince.Taehyun was walking and stopped near Soobin,glaring at the sleeping prince intensely.

At the moment,nothing happened.Thr prince was looking at the same as usual.Lifeless.A tear drop let the Earth Kingdom prince eye,rolling on his cheeks.

It didn't work...

Soobin stayed still as a stone,still hoping that the prince would wake up.But Taehyun bent on his knees,crying.Kai started to cry the same,sobbing.

"That was the end..."

All three of them were desperate to heal the cursed prince,but now,all the long path,the sacrifices.It was for nothing.

Taehyun was staying in front of Beomgyu's bed,holding the prince from his hand tight,still sobbing.Soobin, and Kai glared at the ground sadly,not wanting to watch the sad,depressed scene.
Taehyun's tears made the blanket wet,but he didn't care about it.

But suddenly,Taehyun felt like someone was patting his arm.He quickly lifted his head up,glaring at the hand.

Beomgyu's hand was moving.

Glaring at the prince face,he noticed that his lips turned to pink and his cheeks were red.Beomgyu's eye flinched.Taehyun glared at the boy,with his eyes clear open in case of any other move.

The prince couldn't believe his eyes.Beomgyu's eyes opened slowly,and a smile formed on his face.Taehyun started to cry again,leaning against Beomgyu's body and hugged him like he never did it.But now,Taehyun was crying of joy,feeling warm in his lover arms.

Soobin and Kai both started to cry again,smiling.Slowly,the ice that covered the entire room started to melt,revealing that the curse was finally broken.Yeonjun started to wake up too,feeling a bit dizzy.But after seeing his brother awake and his friends near him,the king couldn't help but to cry and smile.

Taehyun and Beomgyu looked at each other deeply.Taehyun got closer to the prince,sticking his lips against his.The young prince almost forgot the sensual sensation,but he really missed it.Breaking the short kiss,Taehyun hugged again Beomgyu,mumbling.

"I love you,Choi Beomgyu."

Beomgyu chuckled,tighting the hug.

"I love you too,Kang Taehyun,and I will never regret this."
