——————Newt watched Thomas walk away, a look of amusement still on his face. "This should be interesting," he said to himself under his breath.
As Thomas left the cafeteria, he felt a mix of anger and determination. He couldn't wait to face off against Newt, to settle things once and for all. The rest of the day passed by slowly, each minute ticking by like an eternity. Thomas couldn't focus, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of the fight to come.
Finally, the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. Students began filing out of class, eager to begin their weekends. Thomas quickly packed up his things and made his way towards the boys' bathroom.
The bathroom was empty when he got there, and he leaned against the wall, waiting for Newt. A small hint of nervousness began to creep in, but he quickly pushed it down. He wasn't going to back down, no matter how intimidated he was.
He heard footsteps approaching and then the door opened. Newt walked in, the same insufferable smirk on his face. He leaned against the wall opposite Thomas and folded his arms. "So, here we are."
Thomas nodded, trying to maintain a calm demeanor. "Yeah, here we are."
He took a deep breath and stepped forward. "I'm not going to let you mess with me anymore, Newt. I've had enough of your games."Newt chuckled, clearly unbothered by Thomas's words. "Games? I'm just having a bit of fun, Tommy. You're the one who takes everything so seriously. And look where that got you."
Thomas gritted his teeth, trying to keep his anger in check. "This isn't about fun, Newt. This is about respect. And you've shown over and over again that you have none."
"Is that what you want? Respect?" Newt pushed himself off the wall and took a step towards Thomas. "You think you deserve it? Respect is earned, shank. And you haven't done anything to earn mine."
Thomas knew Newt was baiting him, but his anger was reaching its boiling point. "And do you think I care about earning your respect? You're worth nothing to me, Newt. You're a heartless bastard."
Newt's smirk faltered for a moment at the scathing words, and a flash of anger crossed his face. But he quickly regained his composure and stepped closer to Thomas, standing only a few inches away now. "You think that hurts me? Your weak insults mean nothing, Tommy."
Thomas clenched his fists, trying to stop himself from throwing the first punch. "I'm not trying to hurt you, Newt. I'm just telling you the truth. You're a cold, selfish person who doesn't give a damn about anyone but yourself."
Thomas took a deep breath in. "All I want. Is to be left alone. But you never let me be. You've gone too far. Now you've lost Minho, soon you'll lose everyone. It's like you're obsessed with me!"
Newt's face darkened at Thomas's words. "Obsessed? With you? Yeah right. You're just so full of yourself, Thomas. You think everyone wants to be near you when really, you're just a pain in the ass. I don't care about you, I just like to mess with you because you make it so easy." He spat out.
Thomas felt his anger rising again, but he tried to keep his cool. "No, Newt, you're the one who's full of yourself. You think you can do whatever you want because you're good-looking and popular, but you're really just a coward. You pick on people who can't fight back because deep down, you're afraid of actually having to face someone who can dish it out as well as you can."
Newt paused. His smirk twitched. "You think im good looking?" He said with a chuckled. "Why that's the most truthful thing that's ever come out your mouth."
Thomas immediately regretted his choice of words but tried not to show it. "You know damn well what I mean, Newt. You're not fooling me with your smooth talk."
