——————Thomas woke up the next morning, feeling slightly more refreshed but still heavy with the events of the previous night. He had spent the night tossing and turning, replaying the scene at the party over and over in his mind.
The image of Teresa trying to kiss Newt was still fresh in his mind, and it made his heart sink every time he thought about it. He couldn't understand why she would do that, why she would betray him like that.
Thomas had always thought that Teresa was on his side, that she hated Newt just as much as he did. They had bonded over their mutual dislike of him, and he had even shared his plans to get back at Newt with her.
Thomas dragged himself out of bed and shuffled into the bathroom, his mind still preoccupied with the events of the previous night. He turned on the shower and let the hot water run over his body, trying to wash away the lingering feelings of hurt and confusion.
But despite the soothing warmth of the water, he couldn't shake the feeling of dread that had settled in his gut. Today was going to be a difficult day, he could feel it.
He turned off the shower and reached for a towel, wrapping it around his waist. He looked at himself in the mirror, noticing the dark circles under his eyes. He hadn't slept well at all.
He sighed and ran a hand over his face, trying to steel himself for whatever the day had in store. He had no idea what kind of conversation he was going to have with Teresa, but he knew it wouldn't be pleasant.
As he made his way back to his bedroom to get dressed, he couldn't help but wonder what Newt was thinking, too. He had looked so smug and satisfied last night, like he had won some kind of game. Just thinking about it made Thomas seethe with anger.
He pulled on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, not really caring about what he was wearing. He just wanted to get the day over with and face whatever consequences came his way.
As he was putting on his shoes, he heard his phone buzz on the nightstand. He picked it up and saw that he had a message from an unknown number.
Thomas frowned, confused. He didn't recognize the number, and he wasn't expecting any messages from strangers.
He tapped on the notification and read the message.Unknown number: Hey Thomas, it's Minho.
Thomas stared at the screen, puzzled. Why would Minho be messaging him out of nowhere?
He remembered their conversation the night before, and how Minho had been surprised at Teresa's betrayal. Maybe he had some information to share.
Unknown number: I low-key feel bad that your chick suddenly went for newt, so tell me your address so I can pick you up. We can drive to collage together. Me and newt had a fight last night so we arnt talking rn. anway, I think I have some news to cheer you up.
Thomas read the message, surprised by the unexpected offer. He had assumed that Minho would be on Newt's side in this whole situation, but apparently not.
He contemplated the message for a few moments, wondering what news could possibly cheer him up after what happened the previous night. But curiosity got the better of him, and he knew he couldn't say no.
He quickly tapped out a reply, giving Minho his address and agreeing to meet him downstairs in front of his apartment building.
He grabbed his backpack and headed downstairs, still feeling puzzled by Minho's sudden offer. He tried to push his worries and doubts aside and focus on what Minho had to tell him.
He waited outside his apartment building for a few minutes, the cold air nipping at his exposed skin. Finally, a familiar sports car pulled up to the curb and Minho waved at him from the driver's seat.
