VALERIES EYES SLOWLY BEGAN to open. She felt a comfortable mattress underneath her and a soft cover over her body. When her eyes were open enough to see where she was, she frowned. She looked over to her left then to her right right, completely lost to where she found her self.
Suddenly, the throbbing pain reappeared, this time not due to the alcohol in her body. She reached up, touching the bandage that wrapped around her head. What the hell happened? Just as she was about to get up, she could hear footsteps approaching her.
"Rafe?" She squinted her eyes, not knowing if she was dreaming or if the tall blue-eyed blonde was actually coming towards her.
"Hey, Valerie." He smiled softly before taking a seat in the chair next to the bed.
"Whe- what." Valerie wasn't seem pleased. "Where am I?" She looked at Rafe.
He looked down for a moment, not knowing if he wanted to admit everything that had happened before Valerie woke up. He sighed before speaking up. "You're in my house. And just before you start to get aggressive-" he looked up at her. "You need to know that if it wasn't for me you'd probably be dead."
"What?" Valerie was confused, trying to replay the images of last night and what happened before she completely lost her memory.
"You were with the pogues, Val." He began.
Just before he could continue, Valerie raised her voice at him. "Yes, and I'm one of them, I'll never be a kook, definitely not like you. And you do not get to call me Val."
"Valerie. Please just try to understand." He put his head into his palms before looking up at her again. "You had drugs in your system, you went inside to possibly cool off but then you passed out and hit your head."
Valerie thought back to that night, everything starting to become more visible. "Wait, how did you find me then?" She looked at him almost with anger but confused.
"Don't worry about that." He shook his head before standing up. "I need to know one thing though." He spoke coldly.
Valerie's eyes scanned his facial expression, trying to figure out what he was feeling. She couldn't read him at all.
"Did you know?" He asked.
"Did I know what?" She frowned.
"Did you know that my sister was alive!" He crashed out. His jaw was clenched and his eyes turned into a dark blue colour she's never seen before. Valerie was too shocked to speak, the truth was, she did know, she knew all this time and wasn't bothered to tell him. He took her silence as the answer he needed. He slowly nodded his head, anger filling his body. "I'll call Kelce to tell him you woke up."
"Please, Rafe. Leave him out of this." She begged him.
"Valerie he's your damn boyfriend. He's already waiting down stairs. Stop being so dramatic." Once he finished that sentence, he left the room without another word.
Kelce was going to kill her.
He hated when she went to hang out with the pogues, he hated when she called herself one of them. She sighed while closing her eyes once again, trying to get more rest before the tornado entered the room.
