"Small purple orb?" Buddy turned and believe it or not a purple thing came running at them.

"Violet..." Buddy would have ran over to help Violet over, but he didn't want to leave Chase, even if it was for a moment.

When Violet finally reached them, she stomped her foot.

"What...are you...people doing?" Violet huffed.

"I am trying to spend some time with my boyfriend since I thought he died." Buddy cuddled Chase closer.

"Oh, so that's the boy you've been fawning over." Violet looked at Chase up and down. "You're right he does look like an idiot."

"Hey, I didn't know you were gossiping about me!" Chase remarked.

"Oh, he's been talking about you since the day he met you. He would never shut up about you, and he made me make him all those showy outfits to impress you. And I suppose that worked?" Violet pat Buddy's leg.

"Well, obviously." Buddy smiled which made Violet smile too but then she frowned. "Anyway I didn't come here to talk nonsense, we got a problem."

"What problem?" Chase tried to get up but winced and layed back down and burrowed his face into Buddy's side.

"Are you okay?" Buddy massaged Chase's head.

"Yeah...I think, everything feels really tingly and it hurts." Chase's voice was shaky, like he was about to cry.

"Hello, I just said we have a problem!" Violet yelled. Buddy got up, Chase in his arms.

"That's it, you're getting help...I can't stand seeing you like this." Buddy walked out of the library with Chase in his hands.

Violet sighed. "He really loves that boy." Then she smiled and walked away.

Deacon pushed the creature off.

"W-who are you?" Deacon's voice came out shaky.

The creature growled then he backed back into the shadows. Then it started to speak, its voice low and disturbing. "I remember when I was mortal like you." It said.

"What?" Deacon mimicked a cross with his hands.

"That won't work, child. I wasn't created by Hell. HE created me." The creature growled when he said HE.

"Who's HE."

"You really don't know who HE is?"

"No, I don't..."

"The Old Man?"

"Oh, Ex Libris?" The creature snarled when Deacon said that.

"Don't you dare say his name!" The creature growled. "I can't stand hearing his name..."

"Has he abused you?" Deacon asked.

"Child, one does not ask if someone has been abused by the strongest. Anywho, I think you know the answer to that."

Deacon and the monster stayed silent for what felt like hours. Deacon was the one that broke the silence.

"I wonder if Chase is going to come and get me." Deacon sighed. "I doubt it, I lied to him."

"May I ask who Chase is?"

"Oh, he's my cousin."

"Ah, so he's family."

"Yeah, family..." He was guilty of what he told Chase and he was sure Chase hated him now.

"Well, I'm sure he'll come back. Family always does."

"But I messed up...bad. I told him his mom died." Deacon sniffed. "This is how I die."

"Okay, I admit telling someone their mom died is a dumb move but I know you have your reasons. And I promise you he will come back for you."

"What about your family?" Deacon heard the monster whimper. "Sorry I didn't mean to scratch an old wound.

"No, It's okay." The monster sighed. "When I was human, I had the perfect family. I had my Mom, my Dad and my friend..."

"Who was your friend?"

"I don't remember his name, but he was commonly referred to by 2."

"2? That's not a name."

"I know, but people like me and him were really disrespected." The monster walked closer but still kept its distance. "We were considered trash..."
