JAX

The driver drops me off to my penthouse. I haven't thought about a single thing other than Daisy the whole day.

For a moment I even forgot I had a wife. Or maybe I'm trying to forget the fact that I have a wife.

Call me a no good all you fucking want.

I might've went into this marriage with my own will but I only kept one woman in my heart.

Why would I ever use another woman to forget another?

I never intended to use her.
When i first met Mila, she took the thought of all the shit me and Daisy went through away.
Her kind personality, her way of always coming up with something quick to get my mind off of things.
She knew about Daisy. I told her when we first became good friends. Mila always understood my past and never pushed to be something more, even though she expressed she did have feelings for me. After a few nights together, our relationship became deeper.
I proposed to mila after a year. Hearing about Daisy's engagement, I knew I had to move on too...for my own sake.

I wasn't sure if I would ever see Daisy.
With me being all the way in the US and her being all the way in the UK, it was almost impossible. Especially with how it ended between us.

I always kept Daisy in my mind...before mila, after mila.
Mila took my mind off of Daisy in some occasions, but the old memories always creeped in.

.....

I tap my penthouse key card onto the door. The security lock beeps before opening up its large doors.

The lights in the penthouse is open, which can only mean one thing. Mila is home.

Mila went back to New York for a few days to see her family.

When I told her I would be staying in London for a few months she decided to come with me. I did suggest she should stay in New York if seeing her family and work would be a problem but she insisted she wanted to come.

Usually mila is either in the kitchen cooking up something or she's in our bedroom watching series.

As I walk through the hall I notice that the kitchen is empty. She must be in the bedroom.
I walk to the bedroom, opening the door slowly to not startle her.

I find her inside the bed with her IPad in hand. The TV is on but it is mute.
I take off my watch and put it on my beside table before kicking off my shoes to the side.
'How was your day?' She asks, her gaze not leaving the iPad.

I let out a sigh and nod. 'It was okay. The usual business event'

I start to strip my clothes. I need a shower.
'I'll be in the shower' i say but mila stops me.
'Jax?' I turn around to face her.
'Who is this girl?' She turns the iPad towards me. It's a picture of me and Daisy from when we both arrived at the red carpet. I look at the caption and sigh. The media is a messy fucking place.

I clear my throat. 'It's an old friend of mine'
Mila looks at me with suspicion. She knows there's something more but she's not questioning it.
'They think it's an affair..we need to clear the rumours up' she suggests which I just nod to. I just need a shower right now and not anything else.

....

I wipe the blurry mirror, wrapping a towel around my waist before looking at myself in the mirror. I don't know how long I've been in the shower for but the feeling of the water kept me there for longer than i thought.
Looking in the mirror, all I can see is the man that I have created in the past six years.
Tattooed, ripped and married.
