DAISY

'Well I'm glad to say nothing has come up according to your blood tests and your smear test results seems pretty solid too' the doctor says through the phone.
I sigh from relief.

It's my annual checkup to see if my fertility issues are a problem.

When I was 19 I was told that there's a possibility I might never have children and if I do, it might result in miscarriages. Back then, I was in shambles. Jax was my biggest supporter and was there for me through thick and thin.

With my fertility treatment and multiple blood tests throughout these years, I was lucky enough to be treated for infertility 2 years ago.

Even though the chances of miscarriages is still high for me, at least I'm cleared from having difficulties conceiving.

'Thank you so much' I end the phone call and go back to getting ready for a day out with my mum.

.....

'Oh god, that dress is hideous!' My mum says whilst staring at the designer dress sitting on a mannequin inside the store.

'Do you see how they mixed mesh and lace together?! Oh I feel faint' I look over at the dress she's criticising. Urgh...it really is horrible. Mesh is not a fabric that should sit on a dress. As a matter of fact, mesh shouldn't even be used on clothes.

'I need a cappuccino or I will collapse right here, in-front of this ugly dress'
I laugh at my mums exaggeration.
'I know a coffee shop near by'

.....

'So dear, tell me how your life has been'
She squeezes a lemon scented hand cream on her palms.
'It's been okay. I quit my job' I reveal.
'I see, do you have any plans for now?'
I nod.
'I'm thinking to start my own business'
'And What will it be?'
'A handbag business'
'That is amazing sweetie! I am so happy for you. Look, if you go forward with it, let me know and I will make sure to put in the magazines straight away'
I smile. 'Thank you mum'

'Here you go ma'am, your cappuccino'
'It's with oat milk, right?'
'Yes! I made sure'
'Wonderful. Thank you dear'
The waitress walks away and my mum straight away turns to me.
'You will not believe what I heard!' My mother shrieks. As if she's been dying to tell me.
'What is it?'
She lowers her voice and looks around the café.
'I heard, jax is back in London'
I smile at her so called gossip.
'I know about that already mum'
'You do?' Her voice raises in shock. She clears her throat before looking around the cafe in case anyone heard her outburst.

I nod with a chuckle. 'I saw him'
'Why on earth wouldn't you tell me you came across with him?'
I sigh. 'It's really complicated mum'
'I can imagine. I was with the hedricksons yesterday. Camilla told me all about her new daughter is law...'
I look away from my mum to not show any visible knowledge about the subject.
'Anyway, who am I to talk about it, right?'
'Right' I nod, clearing the awkward feeling in my throat.
'Alright, I have to go to lululemon and then I'll head home. Are you coming with me dear?'
I shake my head and look at her still full cappuccino.

Typical celine. Always ordering a coffee and never drinking it. I guess it's down to me to drink it, but I hate oat milk! Urgh.

My mum puts on her Chanel glasses and heads out.

'Miss?' The waitress comes over to my table again.
'Should I take this away?' She puts her hand on the coffee plate.
'Can you put it in a takeaway cup for me please?'
She nods before taking the coffee away.

....

Once I left the coffee shop, I decided to head to roselles.
It's been a long time since I've seen her face to face, especially after her pregnancy. It feels like everything is over the phone.
