Aimi POV:

The time was now 3:24am, we had a little over an hour left, and havent interacted with a single villian or criminal. Aizawa told us this might happen, and had Hitoshi and I sparr to pass some time. At every opportunity I had, I tried to use my quirk on Hitoshi, and each time I had no luck.  I honestly dont even know if its possible to make it work. I had All Might look more into my quirk, to see if anyone else has ever had one similar so that I could do some research.

"Hey Shin~" I purred, activating my quirk. He paused for maybe a second, just a subtle change in demenor. A smile grew on my face, it worked. My quirk actually worked. "Holy shit!" I cheered. Both boys turned to look at me. "My quirk worked on you!"

"No it didnt." Hitoshi told me, his face full of confusion. My smile dropped immediately. How did it not work? He hesitated, it shouldve worked.

"But you paused?"

"Yeah, because ive never heard you say my name like that. It caught me off guard," he told me. Any trace of excitement I had was gone, my confidence now far into the ground.

I let out a soft, "oh," and we continued on patrol. Right before we got back to the agency, we ran into a petty theif, and Aizawa had that taken care of rather quick. After that, we ended for the day and went back to the house. Still feeling down, when we got back I went straight into my room and went to sleep.

Shinso POV:

"You lied to her," Aizawa stated, sitting at the table to start grading papers from the past week or two.

"There was no point in being honest with her, it wasnt strong enough to hold. If i told her it worked, she would stop trying. The second she lost focus, the effect was gone. Shes been having some issues with her quirk anyway, a few weeks ago she tried to use it on Bakugo and it took some time to work. If she gets it again, ill tell her, but this couldve just been a fluke," I explained. Did I feel bad lying to her? Of course I did. Aimi has been trying hard to improve her quirk. Like i said though, if she knew she had me for a split second, she wouldve stopped trying. It wasnt enough, and she let her guard down when she lost focus.

Aizawa just clicked his tongue and shook his head. Wanting to end this, I turned and got some food from the fridge. Standing at the counter while I wanted for my leftovers to warm up, Aizawa and I grew into a comfortable silence. Once my food was done, I continued to stand at the counter as I ate, turning and leaning against it. "Hey," I spoke. Aizawa hummed in response. "Is there something I should do to help her? I mean, im not really sure why my quirk will work on her but hers wont work on mine, but she is trying hard."

"Hitoshi, you should do what you feel is right. All Might and I are looking into the origins of her quirk, but we havent been able to find anyone else with something even remotely similar to hers. We are as in the dark as you guys are." Aizawa was frusterated, it was painfully obvious.
