Aimi POV:It was now our last day of our internships. Overall, it hasnt been that bad. Aizawa had Hitoshi and I sparring quite a bit, and we were each able to capture our own criminal. The Hosu streets arent all that busy at night, which as a resident thats reassuring.
The three of us were calming walking down the street when we heard the noise. Aizawa took off running, Hitoshi and I trying to keep up with him. About a block down there is a whole scene going on. Iida and Midoriya are holding a villain into an alley, while Pro Hero Endeavor and Todoroki get to the scene around the same time we do. The situation is slightly overwhelming, and I have to take deep breaths while taking in the scene. There is a Pro laying in the ground, seemingly still alive, but unable to move.
Instantly locking eyes, Hitoshi and I knew what we needed to do. Todoroki ran in to help Midoriya and Iida, while Hitoshi and I started moving to get people out of the way. It took both of us to move the Pro-Hero out of the way, and once he was at a safe distance we worked on blocking off the scene. During this, Aizawa had moved up onto the roof of one of the buildings, and he used his scarf to pull Hitoshi and I up with him when we were done.
"Okay listen, this is not supposed to be happening. You two did well at rescuing that hero and blocking the scene. Now, what we are gonna do is stay here on standby, ready to help. None of us have a quirk suited for this, as far as we know. In the instance that we are needed, here is a general plan: Hitoshi, stay up here and try to get the villian to respond to you, try to brainwash him. Aimi, your quirk is a bit tricky as we dont know this guys work. In the instance that some shit goes down, do whatever you can to get anyone under your control. I don't care who, if you get the villain that's great, if you can move everyone out of the way that's also great. Whatever you can do will be helpful in this situation." Aizawas words were stern, confident. It was very obvious that he was a pro hero himself in this moment.
The three of us watched the scene play out. Midoriya and Iida seemed to be having some kind of heart to heart, which this is NOT the time for, while the villain stood there watching. The villain moved just a bit, barely enough for anyone to notice, but i did. His back foot moved slightly, his body getting ready to take off. I leaned in slightly, trying to get a better view, when i lost my footing and slipped.
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. As i fell, i let out a guttural scream. A scream so loud, so sharp, everyone froze, and i was the only one moving. My eyes bounced to who I could see, and everytime id look at someone all I saw was them frozen. Did i do that? No, it must just be the shock of the situation. I hit the ground hard, the back of my head bouncing as it made contact with the concrete. Letting out one faint cry, my eyes shut and everything went dark.
Shinso POV:
All i could do was watch as Aimi fell from the roof. I was frozen, my brain telling my body to move yet nothing happening. The second her piercing scream was gone, i was back in control of my own body again, although i couldn't really say what happened next.
All i really remember is once the sound was gone, everyone moved at once. Aizawa and I moving from the roof to the ground, my eyes locked on Aimis body. Blood had begun to pool around her head, coating her dark hair in the crimson fluid. I remember carefully picking her up, one hand wrapped around her knees while the other cradled her head against my shoulder, trying my best to keep her neck stablized. I probably shouldn't have moved her at risk of paralysis, but i was moving on pure instinct. Her breath was shallow, but all i could remember thinking was that she was still breathing, and her body was still warm. I remember running, desperately searching for the nearest hospital. The lights were bright, almost burning my eyes as i pushed through the doors to the emergency department. Her blood had started running down my arm, droplets hitting the floor, the sound all too loud in my ears.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
A woman had brought over a gurney and helped me place her down, and all i could do was watch as she was wheeled away. I couldnt tell you how long i stood there, staring at those doors she went behind. I was snapped out of my trance by a hand on my shoulder. Turning, Aizawa was standing behind me. He was a little beat up himself, but nothing more than some scrapes and bruises.
"Th- They- They took her," my throat scratched as i pushed the words out. Aizawa gave me a smile? Frown? I couldnt tell. He gently pulled me away and sat me down in a chair in the lobby. Nothing else was said between us. Aizawa was making phone calls while i just sat there and stared, everything numb. While i heard the noise around me, none of it registered. Time didn't exist to me at this moment, all i knew was that one speck on the tile floor my eyes refused to move from.
At some point, other students had came to the hospital and sat in the lobby with me, but i don't really remember. I was told later we were given updates as Aimi went through surgery, but i don't remember those either. I was truly the husk of a man, absolutely nothing could break me from my trance.
Apparently I had been sitting there for almost half a day, and i never once moved. I sat in the same position, arms placed on the armrest of the chair, head down staring at one spot. That damn speck on the tile floor. I vaguely remember Aizawa trying to get me to eat something, but i never moved. Never even responded. The sandwich he had bought was still sitting next to me, the wrapper untouched.
The first thing i truly remember after that night was the first thing I had said since I sat down. Aizawa was now sitting next to me, his head in his hands while we waited to hear something, anything. Still looking at the ground, I said, "It worked."
