Dumb Fanfiction Monents!

First Sentance

Have any of you just kinda laid in your bed at 2:30 in the morning and started to read a new fan-fiction but it starts off like this...

"Hi my name is..."

Then you just turn off your device and think, "I'm done."

Because I do.

Like why does the first sentence have to be...

"It all started when..."

"My name is..."

"I am a..."

Guys this is from one author to another.

Why can't you do something cool like (for an example) in my fan-fiction The Sheriff's Daughter (The Walking Dead Fanfic), I started with Carl Grimes P.O.V an he's trying to figure out a way to save himself and his twin sister (my OC).

Now this isn't the start of story, it's the Prologue, and they are trapped in a house, with walkers (zombies) and an evil dude trying to kill them.

Then in chapter one the story re-winds and starts from the beginning.

This is just an example, I'm not saying my fan-fiction is better then yours.

But instead of explaining the story right at the beginning why not take it chapter by chapter?

Or instead of the first sentence being like this...

"It started when I took a cookie from the cookie jar. Now I'm in deep shit. My mom is a witch............ Heck my whole family are witches/wizards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANYWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She put a spell on me cookie and yeah! The end!!!!!!!!!!!!"

OFF TO MARS AND BEYOND YOU GO! Here's an alternate way...

"I should have listen to her, my mom. She told me that I couldn't have a cookie before school, but I didn't listen. I decided to have a cookie, she was prepared. She put a spell on my cookie in case I decided to take one (which I did)and now I have bad luck!"

Then you explain from there!

*Sigh*
