"Shh, shh. Mon ami, it will be ok. I promise" Lafayette attempted to comfort a broken Alex, as he waited for Herc to come and help him.

"HE SAID HE LIVED ME! DO YOU JUST SAY THAT TO ANYONE NOWADAYS!?" he shoved his face in his hands and sobbed loudly.

"I'm here! I'm here!" Herc said in the calmest tone I'd ever heard him.

"Ring! Ring!" My phone buzzed on the table beside me.

"One sec-" I stepped into my bedroom.

"Who is it- JOHN?" "LAF DO YOU KNOW WHERE LEX IS?" "Uh yah he's in my living room. What the fuck did you do?!" 

I heard a bunch of shuffling and a whimper and sniffle before I assume he picked up the phone.

"IM ON MY WAY-"

"WHAT DID YOU DO."

"NOTHING"

"JOHNATHAN LAURENS."

"MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE."

"ugh. Fine"

"All I did was say that I-"

Lafayette could tell he was not safe to be driving.

"John, pull over and we'll come pick you and your car up."

"Ok." He sighed, defeated.

It was quiet for a second as I was getting my keys, about to talk to herc and Alex when suddenly I heard a crash in the phone.

"HOLY SHIT LAF"

"WHAT!?" Alex yelled from across the room, crying even harder now, terrified.

"THANK GOD YOU TOLD ME TO PULL OVER, OR ELSE I WOULD BE IN THAT CRASH." It felt like I could tell how panicked he felt.

Herc turned on the news, and sure enough. A huge crash. Right where John would've been.
