THIRD PERSON POV
“So, where’s the ‘I’m not into alcohol now’ that you were talking about?” Rosé asked, settling into the chair in front of her best friend.
Jennie looked at her and took another drink of whiskey as tears streamed down her face. Rosé sighed, seeing how broken Jennie seemed.
It was already evening, and Jennie had been drinking uncontrollably at the bar she rented for the night, wanting to be alone. Rosé had gotten a call from Lisa, asking her to take care of Jennie, as she thought Jennie wouldn’t want to see her right now. Rosé had seen the news about Jennie’s family and what Byung-hun had done, but she was puzzled as to why her friend wasn’t celebrating—instead, she seemed completely shattered.
“What is it this time?” Rosé asked cautiously, sipping on her plain juice since she’d promised Lisa she’d watch over Jennie.
“I don’t think I have the right to see her again, Rosie,” Jennie mumbled, taking another drink.
“You’ve already had too much, Frosty. And what do you mean?” Rosé asked, trying to take the whiskey bottle away before Jennie could pour herself another glass.
Jennie just shook her head in response and started crying again.“But I miss her so much!” she sobbed.
“Then go meet her! What’s stopping you?” Rosé encouraged her, baffled by her best friend’s behavior.
“I could never do that!” Jennie shouted, pouting angrily. “She hates me now! Do you know the horrible things I said to her? Do you know how hurtful my words were? And in the end, it was all my family’s fault! It’s pathetic that I lashed out at her when it was my family who wronged her!” Jennie cried even harder. Rosé, though confused, was certain that Lisa didn’t hate her. Lisa had seemed so worried when she spoke to Rosé, even crying when she talked about Jennie.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but the person you’re talking about doesn’t hate you, Frostie. She’s madly in love with you. She was so worried, she asked me to come because you told her not to send her men. She’s following your orders, even though it’s clearly hurting her. You’re pushing away someone who’s head over heels for you,” Rosé said, frustrated that made her poured herself a drink from the whiskey bottle and took a gulp.
Jennie cried even harder, shaking her head. “I... broke up with her.”
Rosé’s eyes widened in shock. “What the fuck!? Are you out of your mind?” she asked, slamming her cup on the table. Jennie nodded.
“Yeah. Completely out of my mind,” Jennie said, holding out her glass for a refill. Rosé, stressed out, poured more whiskey, forgetting her original reason for coming.
“I don’t think she agreed to that,” Rosé said, trying to comfort her. She had rooted so hard for their relationship that she wanted to smack her friend for what she had done.
“She did. We’re divorced now,” Jennie pouted, looking pitiful. Rosé suddenly choked on her drink, staring incredulously at her friend.
“What!? Are you serious!? You were never even married, Frostie! Stop being delusional. What, did you two get married without me knowing?” Rosé asked, glaring.
“She called me by my real name, Rosie. It felt like a divorce,” Jennie said, crying harder as Rosé facepalmed.
“What exactly did you say to her?” Rosé exclaimed, taking another drink as Jennie recounted everything she had said to Lisa.
“Oh my God! I need more to drink,” Rosé muttered. The two of them kept talking, getting drunk together while sharing their problems.
Later that night, Lisa and Jisoo arrived to pick up Jennie. Jisoo mentioned that Rosé had made a drunken call, which prompted their urgent visit.
