THIRD PERSON POV

"If you're here to say something, just be quick," Lisa said, looking intently at Leonard Kim, clearly displeased with what had just come out of his mouth. She didn't like that this man was here, but she disliked even more the idea that Jennie would be dragged into this conversation.

"You knew, didn't you?" Leonard stated, noticing the change in Lisa's demeanor after he mentioned his granddaughter. Lisa signaled Jackson to leave, and Jackson bowed his head before exiting, leaving the two of them alone.

"Just recently," Lisa replied as she walked towards the couch and took a seat across from Leonard Kim. Her eyes remained cold, and her voice was distant, just as icy. It was an honest response, as she had only regained her memories after the accident with Jennie.

"Why?" Leonard asked, making Lisa furrow her brows.

"What do you mean, why?" Lisa questioned.

"Why didn't you do anything?" he clarified.

"I did everything to find you. I did everything to find who was responsible," Lisa said, her voice thick with anger and a cold tone that made the atmosphere even more tense. Leonard could sense that he wasn't speaking to a young girl anymore but a Manoban.

"I was planning to take down your company, to leave you with nothing," Lisa added, as if it were the simplest thing to do, and she would, if necessary.

"Why?" Leonard asked again, instead of reacting aggressively.

"Because I met your granddaughter," Lisa answered immediately, her eyes softening as she spoke of Jennie. Leonard noticed the shift in her expression, realizing that he had been a fool for how he acted years ago.

To test his theory further, he decided to push. "What if I decide to take my granddaughter back?" Leonard said, and Lisa's eyes instantly turned cold and deadly, which made Leonard smile inwardly.

"I'm not the same person you met 12 years ago, Leonard. I won't let you take anything without my permission. And to be clear, you won't be getting any permission from me. I will never let that happen," Lisa declared, hating the thought of Jennie being taken from her. Leonard suddenly smiled, which made Lisa furrow her brows at the sudden change.

"I know," Leonard said simply and took a seat, amused by how everything had turned out. He then looked at Lisa, who was staring at him intently, making him clear his throat and carefully consider the person in front of him.

"My granddaughter would hate me if I did that. She and her grandmother share similar traits. She would go against me if she wanted to, and I wouldn't be able to stop her," Leonard said with a smile and a sigh.

"Hate is a strong word," Lisa muttered, and Leonard nodded in agreement.

Lisa remained silent, her sharp gaze never wavering as Leonard settled into his seat. His demeanor had softened, but she wasn't fooled. She'd spent years navigating the labyrinth of power and survival. She knew better than to drop her guard, especially around a man like Leonard Kim.
