Chapter 8

Rajveer opens his eyes when sunrays directly hit his face.

He got up and sat on the bed before stretching his arms. He yawned a little and suddenly his mind recalled everything from last night.

"Oh shit!"

He pressed his forehead and cursed himself.

Aarushi entered the room. "You're up?"

He lifted his head and looked at her. She was wearing a green saree.

"Saree?"

"Summi gave me this and helped too"

He blinked his eyes.

"Don't worry this time it won't get open because she taught me how to handle it"

He stood up. "About last night, uh-I'm sorry"

"Just don't get drunk again" she said without looking at him.

"Are you angry?"

She looked at him. "Should I be?"

"Please Aarushi-"

She interrupted. "Get changed! We are going to Mandir"

"Mandir?"

"Maa told us to visit there before going home. We can leave from there"

He nodded. "I'll get ready"

She nodded and walked out of the room.

After sometime, Rajveer came out wearing Kunj's kurta and pant.

"It perfectly fits you" Summi chirped looking at him.

"Thank you Summi for letting us stay here" Aarushi held her hand.

Summi smiled. "You're welcome. Just remember to always stay together. You both make a perfect pair!"

Aarushi chuckled and nodded.

Kunj shifted to Rajveer's side and whispered. "Tonic kaam toh aaya tha na?"

[Did the tonic work?]

Rajveer gritted his teeth but forced a smile at him and nodded. 'Iski tonic ki toh'

"Let's go" Aarushi motioned for him.

They both started leaving. Summi and Kunj waved at them. "Byeee"

"300 stairs!" Aarushi said looking up at the temple on the hill.

"Why are you overreacting?" He scoffed.

"It's easy for you but not me I've kept fast and haven't eaten anything since morning!"

"You what?"

"Yes Maa told me to keep fast till we reach the temple"

She sighed and was about to step ahead but, He picked her up in his arms.

"What are you doing?"

"It's inappropriate to let you climb the stairs knowing you have fast"

She looked around at other people giggling and smiling at them.

"You're embarrassing me. Let me down!"

He held her more strongly. "Not until we reach there" he started climbing.

She closed her eyes in embarrassment.

He chuckled. "People are still watching, wifey"

"Atleast this way I won't see them laughing at me"
