Dinner went very well and now our parents are talking in the living room. My mom suggested that I should bring Kira up in my room so we can get to know each other more. Doing exactly what she said, I opened my room door and all you can see are my posters and decorations in my room.
"Woah, your room looks so chill and you even have a beanbag chair" she said flopping down on it. I laughed at her actions and replied with a nod. She picked up my camera that was on my shelf and gave me a wow look. "I had that camera since freshman year, still getting the hang of using it" I told her. She shook her head and smiled. I played some music so neither one of us gets bored or have to sit in silence. as i felt the feeling of someone staring at me, i looked over at her.
I waved to her, getting her attention. She got up from the bean bag and walked right towards the door. Next she turned her head towards me and asked a question I never thought I would hear in my life. "You wanna do something fun?" she asked.

Kira dragged me along with her to a random park that I had never been to before. The park looked like it was abandoned a long time ago. For ahead I see her friends sitting down in a circle laughing with each other. She said something out loud for them to hear and they all turned around looking at us.
"Oh Kira finally you're here" Alex said, getting up to hug her. Kira let go from the hug and pulled me to show I was here too. "Yeah, it turns out my mom is best friends with Malia's mother. The world is really small" she pointed out. They all turned to me and welcomed me at the hangout. I sat down next to Kira and she handed me an orange soda. I thanked her and waited for the soda to become warm since it's too cold outside to drink right now. Observing them, the group was singing songs together and bringing up old memories. I wonder how long they've been in charlotte.
"So Malia, how long have you been in North high?" Noah asked. The question made the group stop what they were doing and look at me. "Since sophomore year, I went to another school before north high," I confirmed. They all nodded their heads except for Theo who was in deep thought. "So that explains why you don't know about the negative stuff that was said about us" Leon spoke up. It seems like he wasn't supposed to say anything by the way Alex smacked him in the back of his head.Leon mumbled a ouch from what happened. I mean I'm starting to put everything together by the way everyone looked at them in the cafe.
"Don't hit him, it's true. No one cares about us , even the friends you were hanging out with on Friday. I saw the way they were looking at our table" Theo announced. Looking at all of them I felt bad and I can't even find the right excuse because I know the girls don't like them either or seem to care. Alex felt the tension and quickly moved on from the subject.
I was still in deep thought about it. I was sitting with people who judged others without getting to know them. So what does that make me?

Instead of sitting around, the group decided to walk around the neighborhood. Alex was telling scary stories along the way. Which made Leon not want to stay outside at night any longer. I laughed at his reaction and Theo was trying to calm him down. Kira and Noah were ahead of us holding hands pointing at the stars. I'm kind of shipping them right now.
Our next location was the woods. Noah suggested that if we go by the lake then we can see the stars close enough. I should've bought my camera if I knew I was going to be here. Making our way through the trees, my hoodie gets stuck on a branch. I tried pulling it out but nothing worked and the group was ahead. Still trying to take it off the branch, I felt a hand helping me as well. I look up and see Theo concentrating on getting me off this branch. Finally I felt my hoodie being free from this evil tree branch and I checked if it wasn't no rips. Getting myself together I look at Theo thanking him for the help. "No problem, just try not to fall in the lake next" he sarcastically said.
Finding our spot by the lake, Alex jumped excitedly on how beautiful it was. I was amazed by the scenery. How do they find locations like this? And where have I been all my life? Leon looked at me and said "welcome to our secret location" no wonder i didn't know where this was. I found a nice seat by the lake but it was a good distance just in case my phone drops or something. Being in my own world I haven't noticed that Theo took a seat next to me. "Hey I'm sorry about Friday and today. I should've introduced myself properly." he apologized. I never thought he would to be honest. "I'm just protective over them, the way everyone treats us. My friends don't deserve it" he continued. I felt for all of them honestly. "May I know why they treat you guys so badly?" I asked. He was about to answer my question but Noah called out his name to help him count the stars.
As I looked up at the sky, I thought to myself how I can change people's perspective of the group in front of me and how I can separate them from them.
