In my head I had so much to think about; some day I knew I was going to run into her, but on Halloween? That's just cruel. Apparently we left early because Alex wasn't feeling so good. He wouldn't say anything to any one of us. I was still concerned about it, though.
"I should've asked where they got the food from," Leon said.

Friday afternoon, the Halloween spirit is not in our bodies anymore. We were back at square one in school, which was classes. Ms. Layton decided to give us a pop quiz in my third period class; who does that? Right after Halloween is insane. She needs to go to jail for that. She had Noah and Alex stressing out, but I helped them out with some of the questions. I told them to study just in case, but the two of them didn't listen.I walked up to the rooftop to meet Theo since he has a free period as well. I made sure no one saw me go up there because it's kind of our secret hangout now. Opening the doors, I see Theo with his Marshall headphones, moving his head to the music. Surprisingly, I heard him start singing out of nowhere. I was shocked with his vocals. I felt like I was invading his space right now, so I tried sneaking back through the door. The universe wasn't on my side today when the door made a loud noise, which Theo looked up from his sitting position.
"There you are," he grinned. Retracing from my tracks, I walked towards him and sat down. "Here I am," I responded. He shook his head and laughed while taking off his headphones. "Were you spying on me?" He smirked. I felt exposed at this very moment. "What no, I came right on time; anyway, you can sing?" I pointed out. He nodded his head at me and smiled. "Yeah, I do sometimes; I love doing it though," Theo said. I say that listening to him talk about his love for singing reminds me of my love for my guitar. "Why don't you sing me a song, any song?" I suggest. It took a while, but he started off with the song Understand by Keshi. As he started singing the lyrics, I was lost in his voice; it was really soothing. He has to sing for the fall festival that's coming up.
Once he was done, I clapped repeatedly; he had the voice of an angel. "That was so good," I complimented. "Thank you, I tried Lia," he thanked me.
I rested my head on the wall, looking up at the sky. "You have to teach me how to sing like that," I announced, which made Theo snort. "It comes with natural talent," he teased. I nudged to the point he fell out of his sitting position. "LIA," he gasped. I got up quickly to run away from him. "Catch me if you can," I sang as I ran around the rooftop. He caught up to me eventually, and we both fell on the floor. Laughter came out of us and took a breath of air. As we were done, we turned to look at each other and smiled. "We should get going," I said to him. He nodded as a response.
I looked over at him for some time and my heart was beating really fast. what's happening?

The day went by fast, I was already in the last period waiting for it to be over. Physical education is my least favorite class, my gym teacher makes me run all the time. I have asthma, do she want me to pass out on the floor? It was okay though, I have this class with Alex. we do our talks while participating in this crazy place.
"Okay everyone, we are now starting our dodgeball unit but since it's friday, you guys have freeplay" Mrs. Leighton announced to all of us. I groaned once she said the words dodgeball. Last time we played, someone threw the ball my butt. This game is a death trap especially when people don't like you.
Alex and I walked over to the bleachers, sitting down, observing everyone. To our left, Jackson was being a jerk, as usual, purposely throwing a football at this one boy. I heard Alex suck his teeth at what was going on. "I swear he's going to end up in jail one day," Alex stated. "Someone will end up calling the police on him," I replied back. Jackson is the type of guy to put on this fake stunt, but I know he has secrets of his own in that big head of his. "How can you two be so sure?" a voice said to us. We both turned our eyes to look at the boy who said that. He had dark, curly hair with round glasses. "I mean, he looks pretty scary; I don't think anyone would do that to me," the boy continued. Alex furrowed his brows and agreed with the boy.
"What's your name?" I asked him. He walked down the bleachers and stood in front of us. "I'm Jace," he answered. Alex titled his head to the side. "Are you new here? You look pretty familiar," Alex peeped. From the looks of it, Jace kind of hesitated with an answer. Alex didn't notice it, though. "I'm new here; transfer from New York," he replied. Our time was cut short when the whistle was blown to change back to our regular clothes.
