Maeve stepped forward, her heart racing. “You’ve underestimated the people of this city! We will not stand by and let you dictate our lives any longer!”

The Council leader laughed, but Maeve could see the uncertainty in his eyes. “You’re brave, I’ll give you that. But bravery won’t save you.”

“Maybe not,” Maeve replied, her voice steady. “But it will inspire others. You’ve caused enough pain and suffering. This ends now!”

With a swift motion, she signaled to her comrades, and they surged forward, pushing back against the guards. The battle that ensued was fierce and chaotic, but Maeve felt a sense of clarity amid the chaos.
