(Narrator's POV)
It's been a full two weeks since Bella and Edward began dating. Things seem to go by normally if not including the occasional distance Azira has been showing of late during the past few days with only the short reply of being busy.
There's been a panic going around with the residents of Forks due to the numbering deaths from supposed bear attacks as of late. The police are kept occupied with the rising cases while the people develop a caution to not go into certain forest areas, especially not alone.
Aside from that, it seems Azira shows no negativity regarding Edward's actions or his relationship with Bella, infact it appears as though she doesn't care about the human girl's existence entirely. On the other hand, speaking of Bella, it seems she's becoming more nosy and is trying to figure out what Azira is, given how actively all the Cullens interact with the girl.
This curiosity of course hasn't gone unnoticed by Azira as well as Edward and Rosalie. Though Edward advises Bella not to get too curious about Azira, it seems to fall on deaf ears and he makes no real effort to stop her, while Rosalie exhibits a protective behavior amidst her obvious dislike whenever the human tries to learn anything more about Azira, making it clear it's none of Bella's business.
The one-sided tension builds gradually and it begins to worry the rest of the Cullen family. As the weekend of the second week approached, the Cullens discussed about where in the forest they'll go to play baseball given a storm was estimated to roll in at that time. The location was decided and they excitedly invited Azira to join them to which she agreed.
Much to Rosalie's opposition, Edward planned to invite Bella as well. After a long discussion and a minor disagreement between the two, Rosalie finally caved and dropped the argument.
So everyone came to an agreement, planning for the chosen day to have fun and most importantly work on building closer relationships with Azira. Meanwhile, with Azira, things are getting more complicated with her mission, or as she likes to view it, more exciting.
[Friday Afternoon]
(Azira's POV)
'I'm starting to hate school more and more.. there's barely anything to do and these kids make it all the more exhausting..' I grumbled internally as i made my way through the busy halls. The bell having gone off signaling the end of the school day and like many around me, I just wanna leave this forsaken place.
As I walk towards my car in the parking lot, I'm about to unlock my car door when I receive a message on my work phone making my stop in my tracks.
"The hell.." Sensing no one close in my proximity, I quickly check the message and my brows furrow upon reading through the information provided.
/Desert Rose. We have new information pointing to new suspected parties involved in the case pertaining to Smith's involvement with the distribution of ammunitions. There's been a new chemical having appeared in the possession of the iron slate syndicate and from the information we managed to get out of him after you handed him over to us, there's a lead on the identity of the supplier of this chemical that he distributed to them. The file attached below has all the details we could get and a few pictures of some individuals we want you to capture alive./
Seriously contemplating this information, I opt to go over the attached file at home. Having decided that, I put my work phone away and open my car door, about to get in when that distinct voice that lacks personality reaches my ears and I sigh in exasperation.
Turning to face the approaching girl as I greet with a calm tone "Hello, Bella. Can I help you?", seeing her hesitant behavior with her mouth opening but no words coming out, I refrain from rolling my eyes and maintain a polite smile.
"It's just.. I.. I wanted to know if you were also going to hangout with the Cullens this weekend to play baseball. Are you?" She finally asks. Taking a moment to just get into my car, I reply "Yes. Carlisle invited me a few days ago and I cleared my schedule for that particular day."
Once my door is closed, I turn the car on and say to Bella through the window "Unfortunately, right now I'm in a rush so I'll see you tomorrow at the game. Bye, Bella.", with that, i back out of the parking lot and drive away before any more distractions arise. I have to adjust my plans for this mission as soon as possible if I want to catch my targets.
[Time-skip; 3 hours later]
The drive home was quick and I got right down to business after a quick shower all of which happening within the span of an hour. I've spent the last two hours going through the attached file using my laptop.
Within the file contains marked locations in and out of Washington, the farthest one being halfway across the world in Europe. Additionally, multiple pictures of various individuals are attached in the file, them being the targets i have to capture alive.
A few men in particular stand out to me, the first one being a dark haired man with a clean cut beard looking to be in his late 30's to early 40's, the information below his picture only gives a first name and position. "Vincenzo.. Don of the iron slate syndicate.. hm.." I mutter to myself thoughtfully as I study the picture.
Scrolling down to the next photo that happens to be of a blonde man with piercing blue eyes and a cunning smirk, reading over his information that's as minimal as the first guy 'Ryan Clinton.. Mafia leader and big shot in the black market goods supply..', studying the picture a bit longer, I continue to scroll downwards and carefully study the other individuals,
'Maxwell Davison... Eric Coleman.. Richard Kennedale.. Jack Bradley.. xxxxxx.. xxxxxx.. Weapons distribution, Drug dealer.. Human trafficking.. Political connections..' it's a while before i fully get through all the details provided.
Sighing once I'm done, I begin narrowing down the ones I can catch while still staying here in Forks. Adjusting my plans for each target as to not tip off the others connected to them, I spend another 3 hours devising courses to action to take for each target and ensure my cover here refrains from being jeopardized.
"This is gonna be a wild ride, Jelly. Looks like my boredom is coming to an end soon.." a smirk dances on my lips as I pick up Jellybean, a glint of excitement shimmering within my eyes as I look at the finished plan laid before me with satisfaction.
Petting Jellybean as I head to the kitchen, I coo fondly "My little baby must be hungry.. let's get you some food, yeah.. that's enough work for one day."
