I already broke my promise.

I feel like I should tell the people reading this I have never read Storm Runner so I don't know how accurate those details that my friend wrote are are

I woke up in my bed breathing heavily, though I quickly calmed myself down. Zane was still zonked out in his bed. I smelled pancakes from the kitchen so I woke Zane up. He looked upset when I shook him but I think he also smelled the pancakes since he looked happy within a second. We walked towards the kitchen and I saw that there were blue pancakes sitting on the table on our respective plates. My mom and Paul were already there, they waved hi and continued enjoying their breakfast. I wolfed down the pancakes so fast that my mom gave me a stern look, but she didn't say anything when she realized Zane also wolfed his pancakes down. After we both brushed our teeth and got changed we took a quick(Long) walk around the block (25 times). Once we came back Zane's mom and Uncle were there helping to make lunch. Zane of course ran up to his mom to hug her.

"Diablo no hug for your uncle??" Hondo had his arm open wide for Zane, he definitely missed him. Then Zane hugged him.

"Oh Percy and Zane, can you two go to the store and get some more groceries please? We ran out of some things we needed to make lunch," My mom asked politely but I could tell we had no choice. Zane's mom handed him the piece of paper and we went back outside. Once we were at the supermarket we grabbed a basket, since there weren't that many items.

"Tortillas? Shouldn't that be in the bread section?" Zane asked, confused, I also thought it should've been there too. We walked towards the pastries section and we found the Tortillas there.

"Why would this be there if it's not even a pastry?" I am so confused now.

"My dad would've gone bonkers if he was here with us. He would go on a ramble about the fact that Tortillas should be in the bread section and how whoever runs this store is insane." Zane suppressed a laugh as he said that.

"My dad would've done that too most likely." I don't know if Poseidon would've gone on a great ramble but he most likely would've been upset about it too. We walked to the milk section since we needed milk then I glanced to my right and saw Thalia all the way at the edge of the aisle. Oh great, we already have to leave for the quest. What's worse was the fact that the milk was the last thing we needed. She was ushering me over with hands, she obviously wanted me to follow her.

"Hey Zane i just remembered we forgot something i'll be right back!' I threw in a convincing smile. However he raised an eyebrow in my direction he knew something was up.

"Get it quickly." With that he turned back towards the milk. I quickly dashed towards Thalia who had already turned the corner. I caught up with her right outside the supermarket.

"I'm going to be in so much trouble Thalia." I was definitely going to be grounded for the rest of my life.

"You'll be fine. The world needs to be saved again Percy you know. That takes priority." She looked at me sternly. Then she continued walking towards the abandoned side of manhattan. I didn't want to go that way but I had no choice. We were stopped by traffic lights and construction every so often so it took awhile to get where we were going. We finally arrived in front of a tall abandoned warehouse.

"Really we have to go in there? It smells horrible!" I was not exaggerating, it smelled like the underworld but way worse than it.

"The Argo II is parked on top of it, Percy. We have to get to it through here." With that she pushed open the door and we walked inside. The door took longer to close than It should've, which was suspicious but I didn't have time to look at it. As we kept moving forward I heard the pitter patter of walking behind us but when I turned around nobody was there.

"Do you also sense that somebody else is here with us?" I asked Thalia, if anybody was here she would know.

"Don't be Silly Percy, you must be hearing things!" She slapped me on the shoulder and smiled.

"DIE!" I looked ahead and what I saw was horrifying. There was a thing with wings and eyes bulging out of its skull. It had wings on its back that looked to be made of flesh and bones. What was funny was that it had a funny pack strapped along its chest. It had lone nails that were tipped with blood. When it opened its mouth I saw really sharp fangs. It had blood red body hair and was wearing a loincloth. It was running straight towards us at a very fast pace. I barely had time to take out Riptide when.

"Look out Percy!!" Suddenly Zane dashed out from behind the boxes and rushed towards the monster cane in hand. Before he could raise his cane to hit the thing the monster clashed him multiple times across his chest and arms. I was rushing towards them with Riptide in hand now, Thalia was readying her arrows now. Then Zane punched the thing in the face and it flew backwards. When I got to him he was swaying from side to side. I was about to ask him if he was okay when his eyes went wide. Then he started coughing up blood like crazy and he was driven to his knees.

"Stupid *Cough* Packstrap *Cough* Demon *Cough*." In between the words more blood came out with each cough and it became faster too. Wait, how did he know what it was called? Suddenly he fell on his side and his eyes were closed now. I immediately picked him up as Thalia finished the monster off.

"THIS WAY NOW!!" Thalia shouted at me and I didn't hesitate. I was not going to let Zane die on me. Blood was coming out of his mouth almost like a waterfall now. Both of our clothes were soaked with blood. I followed her up a stairwell. She fought off the Demons that came towards us while I made sure they didn't touch Zane. Once we made it to the roof I saw Jason,Nico,Frank,Reyna and Annabeth fighting away the demons from the ladder to the Argo.

"JASON!! GET US UP THERE NOW! WE HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY!" He looked my way and his eyes went wide with shock when he saw me holding Zane. He rushed over, grabbed me and Thalia's waist and flew us to the Argo. Thalia looked like she was going to pass out which was reasonable since she was afraid of heights but she kept herself calm for Zanes sake. Once we landed I realized Zanes' condition had changed drastically, He was now pale and blood was streaming out his mouth like a waterfall now. I started running towards the medbay with Jason and Thalia in tow. When I got there I bust down the door and placed Zane down on a bed. But Will was sleeping in one of the spare beds.

"Will! HE NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION!" I shouted loudly. That woke him up. He sprang into action, I couldn't keep up with what he was doing. But I did know he patched up the demon scratches pretty good. Then he shoved us into the hallway. I walked back to the deck with Jason and Thalia. Everyone was waiting for us there in a semicircle, Annabeth was in the center of the semicircle.

"Percy what happened in the warehouse?" Annabeth had a collected look on her face but her bottom lip was trembling. I realized that everyone, not just Jason, saw what happened to Zane.

"Nico, can you watch over Percy's friend please?" Will was standing behind us now, his clothes were drenched in blood. Nico didn't even question him as he dashed to the Medbay. It was suddenly too quiet for my liking, my friends were most likely scared by what happened to Zane and I don't know whether or not he will live.

"I don't know whether or not he will make it, Percy. He was coughing up tons of blood. I tried my best to make it less painful for him, but I can't promise he will be too comfortable." Will was crying now, he must've felt so powerless like the rest of us. Before I knew it I was crying with Will as I walked over to give him a comforting hug. Everyone else joined in too and they were sneezing like crazy. After a while Nico walked back up the stairs with blood on his hands.

"Bloods getting onto the floor Percy." He spoke calmly like it was just another Monday. But he also looked shaken up like everyone else.

"Oh, going right now." I whipped away my tears and walked down stairs to the medbay. It would be a long ride back to camp.
