not mine

Monster. I was a monster. I only wanted to render them unconscious, but they gave me no choice. They didn't know I had gotten better at fighting since last time. I didn't need anybody else to take on a god with me now. Heck I could even confuse my dad with my moves, and that is a big win for me. Sure it doesn't really slow him down when he's training me but it makes me feel good. Zotz's stupid bats had bitten my ankles so much that I could see my own bone. Gross. I hated blood especially since that day. The water stung me badly. I was going easy on them at first then I went into turbo mode with Fuego. My cane hadn't been badly damaged. Just splattered with blood and bat bites. It was night so I couldn't draw my power like I normally do. I was too exhausted to pull the magic by feeding it with my life force? Yeah I think that's what it's called.

"Need help Zane?" Mat was here of course. Great, just what I needed right now.

"Okay I'll leave then. Goodbye Zane."

"WAIT!" I shouted loudly. Mat turned back towards me and smiled.

"You're too dramatic, Zane. Besides, I'm here to help you." Mat said as crouched down to examine my wounds.

"What game are you rigging this time?" I asked, suppressing a laugh.

"Oh just the game between the- mind your damn business." He responded coldly while he bandaged my foot. When he was done I was somehow wearing new shoes. He can do magic to do that so I shouldn't be too surprised. I flexed my foot expecting to be in great pain, but I wasn't. Phew, one obstacle down.

"You did what you had to do, Zane. Nobody blames you for it." Mat told me, but I didn't feel better. I opened my bag to look for my book when I realized. Annabeth still had it! Oh this is really bad. I am so screwed. I stood up but my vision immediately went black and I was back on the sand. I opened my eyes and stood up again. This time I didn't fall down.

"Careful Zane." Yeah no shi- sherlock.

"Watch your mouth Zane." Mat had a serious look on his face. A gateway opened up behind him. He walked through the gateway and disappeared. I followed him obviously.
