We fight a guy with weird magic

this is not my story it belongs to JuliaLovesFire but you should know that by now.

We made it to Yucatan within 1 week which was good for us but bad for Zane's family since they were probably worried to death right now. We were walking through a rainforest hoping to find some way to where the twins were. (minus Grover and Hazel because Rachel needed them for an emergency. Oh also Leo was left on the ship) Zane tensed up anytime we mentioned the twins as if they did something to him or the other way around. We were in a clearing now which apparently everyone else decided was a good place to camp.

"WHY AREN'T WE IN THE CITYYYYY!?" Zane yelled dramatically. We had been walking for a while but it must've been hard for him since he had a cane and was recently severely injured.

"Calm down, maybe we can find somebody to take us wherever they are." As Annabeth said that a boat appeared on cue in the river at the edge of the clearing with a man standing holding its oar.

"I heard somebody was wishing to travel to the land of the dead?" the captain said. Zane let loose what were clearly cuss words in another language. Then he walked up to the guy and gave him a bar of chocolate and sat down in the boat.

"Well c'mon. It'll be fine." Zane waved us to come forward and we followed. He was the only one out of us who understood the Maya the best, so we just had to trust him when it came to things with the Maya like he did with things related to the Greek/Romans. After we all sat down the guy started paddling along the boat into a black portal. He let us know to call him Captain Z, we didn't talk to him since we didn't want him to snitch on us when we were at the destination. Once we passed through the black portal we made a couple of stops here and there. Then he stopped the boat in front of a big dark palace made of what looked like bones and obsidian. We all got off the boat and thanked the driver, who only stared at Zane the entire time. Suspicious. When he left we went towards the palace since I figured we had to go in there.

"This place smells so bad I feel bad for the spiders." When Zane finished the sentence Annabeth immediately jumped into my arms and she was shaking so much that I started shaking too. We walked for a while and passed many rooms. Some were a kitchen, living room, library, office and a game room. We stopped once we found some eerie stairs that lead into a basement, we obviously took them.

"I'm definitely hallucinating about the smell now. Should've brought my febreeze. Oh wait, I gave it to Leo." Zane sulked down the stairs.

Zane was right about how bad this place smelled and it only got worse the farther we went. At the bottom the stairs opened up to a huge room with high ceilings. It was the same style as above, just more dungeon looking. Hanging from the ceiling were two cages. One held a guy with bat wings and the other held a guy that looked like one of those chiseled statues. Both of them were staring at us, I assumed they were the Hero Twins. Zane marched straight to the cages like he just wanted to be gone.

"Who are you guys?" Annabeth shouted loudly so they could hear.

"He is Camazotz and my name is Bird." Bird said as looking down hopefully, he knew we were here to save him.

"Bird is the younger Hero twin and Camazotz is the Mayan bat god." Zane scoffed angrily after he said that. Sheesh, how could he hate two prisoners so much?

"We need your help with a quest. If we save you two will you help us?" Annabeth asked them. Bird and Zotz (Call him Batman)(Okay fine Zane) exchanged a few silent words and both nodded their heads in agreement. Jason lifted me and Zane on top of the cages in hopes that we could unlock them. Zane was opening Zotz's cage while I was opening Birds, when Zane finished opening his cage we heard a voice.
