not mine you know

We arrived at a cave that was fully furnished. Not one of the weirdest things I've seen but it made the top 15 on my list. We walked further inside after dismounting from the horse.

"Stay nearby in case we need you, Arion," Hazel said to the horse while feeding it gold nuggets. Once it was finished eating, the horse disappeared. We walked further into the cave that smelled like a mixture of perfume smells. A woman was standing next to an oversized pot that was over a fire. Her dark brown hair was tied into a bun. She was wearing a black long sleeved shirt with a matching floor length skirt.

"Oh Hazel dear, have you come for more magic training?" Hecate asked as she dropped something else into the mixture.

"No, maybe another time. We need your help taking care of a curse." Hazel replied as she took me out of the carrier. Hecate's eyes widened a bit then resumed normality.

"Gale fetch me Hecuba!" Hecate shouted at somebody. Then she walked over to Hazel and took me from her. She examined my ears, eyes and paws closely.

"It's a death curse. Too powerful for me to undo." Hecate said her final verdict.

"Is there anything we can do, great goddess of magic?" Rachel asked as a polecat arrived on the hellhounds back as they entered the room. The hellhound snorted and barked. The polecat scrambled down from the hellhound's back and dashed further into the cave. It returned with some chicken in it and was offering it so I could eat. I gladly accepted the food.

"Well as my baby Hecuba says, one of the only things you could do since the curse somehow will make her soul go to the maya underworld when she dies. Is to ask their god of death to set her free." Hecate translated. I hate my life and I hate the underworld more. It probably smells horrible and is dirty, I can't spend the rest of my days there.

"Is that all we can do? You sure we can't, like a satyr ritual?" Grover stuttered saying the words since he was probably scared.

"It's either bargaining with the Mayan god of death or she dies." Hecate responded cooly like my life wasn't on the line here.

"Alright let's go to Yucatan then." Rachel said while shoving me back in the carrier. I didn't want to be stuck in that any longer. Hecate looked sad like she knew something bad was going to happen.

"Goodbye goddess of magic and crossroads." Hazel said. It made sense now why she looked sad since I had a feeling now that one of the crossroads had a bad ending. We all mounted Arion then sped off to Yucatan.

We arrived in the middle of a rainforest. My "Natural habitat" but it wasn't. Not really I think technically it is but it isn't. Rachel let me out of the carrier so I jumped onto the ground. I'm not proud of what I did but I ran away from them. I was tired of being stuck in that stupid carrier. Even though they were the only people that could help me at the moment I ran from them. 1 point for stupidity. They were shouting my name but I didn't stop running. I somehow ran to an area that was free from most tall trees and mud. There were beautiful flowers everywhere on the ground. They were mostly exotic ones obviously. I walked around the area for a while until I heard a noise. Twing! It sounded like an arrow flying free. But I couldn't see any source. Shink! It went right through my heart. This is probably what that goddess saw coming. I still had that ring turned bracelet on my paw, shining brighter weirdly enough. I heard footsteps coming my direction but I didn't care anymore. If this was my fate, and I was going to die. So be it. I know you can't prevent things from happening sometimes.

"Thalia! You hit the poor thing in the heart! It's not a rabbit!" A girl shouted as she loomed over me.

"I'm as blind as Jason! Gods dang it! How could I do this!?" Thalia knelt next to me and put a cloth near the wound. They were both wearing silver circlets and had silver jackets. Not the best for the hot weather here.

"I'm so sorry," Thalia was crying now she must've felt really guilty. I tried to speak but all that came out was a meow. I hate this. Then they started to speak a different language. The other girl then pulled out a bar of chocolate from her jacket's pouch.

"Have you ever had the chocolate of the gods before?" The other girl asked.

"Reyna, are you insane!? She will surely die if you give her that!" Thalia exclaimed. She swapped the cloth and continued to press against my wound.

"One of the things I tried to do as praetor was when a wound was too great was to give the dying their favorite food. They always died with a smile," Reyna explained as she unwrapped the chocolate.

"May Artemis forgive us," Thalia said. Reyna put the chocolate next to my mouth and I bit into it. It was all gone within seconds. I knew mortals weren't supposed to have the chocolate because they might be killed by it. But it tasted so good, and I ate it all.

"We should try to find the others now." Reyna told thalia.

"You're right. Let's go now. I'm sorry this happened, kitty cat." Thalia wiped away her tears as she took away the cloth. Reyna was also crying now. Then they both took off into the forest. The clouds looked darker now as rain started to fall down. Hopefully Zane will be okay. Maybe he would take in Zane? He might be a bad influence but at least Zane will be happy. I turned my head over and saw I was human again. At least people would be able to find my body.

"ELENA!" Somebody shouted my name. I realized I was going to be gone forever, away from the people I loved. I would never be able to see them again. He would probably forget about me, he probably never loved me. The voice sounded familiar but I didn't recognize it well. I heard footsteps coming my way. I wanted to say go away and let me die in peace but i couldn't bring myself to say it.

"WHO THE HELL DID THIS!" He shouted. Oh gods it was him. His golden eyes were filled with rage. He lifted my head onto his lap and was stroking my hair now. I was definitely going to die now. Multiple lightning strikes went off nearby as it started to rain harder. I couldn't let him know how the heck this happened, otherwise he would hunt those girls down till the end of time.

"Sorry for being a pain," I told him. His expression softened a little bit.

"You never were a pain, you know Elena. I'm sorry I gave you pain though." he responded. I never thought I would hear him apologize for something, if only I had my phone on me. Wait. Where did I leave my phone again?

"I'm going to die right?" I asked him as tears fell down my face. I hoped I wouldn't cry but I was. Stupid human emotions.

"Yes," He answered my question, "I might know a way you can technically live."

"Just tell me. I don't care if it's risky." Yes. I had a chance to see my family again.

"A deal."

"I already heard this from Hecate." I wasn't in the mood to bargain with Ah-Puch.

"Not with him. With me." I contemplated what he said for a while.

"Just tell me the fine print or whatever the deal revolves around!" I shouted angrily. I needed to make sure Hondo didn't make a stupid business move with the shop. I thought I heard a suppressed snicker but when I looked at him, his face was like a piece of stone. Unmoving. He started to explain the deal but I couldn't hear anything now. The only word I could hear was girlfriend. He had me sold by just that one word.

"What do I have to say to agree to your terms?" I asked.

"Simple. The same words the Storm Runner said. Just some words are not used!" He responded with a smile. I have no idea what he got out of this but hey. I was going to live another day.

"I Elena Obispo, agree to your terms." I said before I closed my eyes.
