AZURA GOJO

My throat felt parched and dry, that even sweet water couldn't satisfy the odd needs of my body. Was it the unknown that I feared? Or maybe, I feared the known. Remnants of my dream scattered across my thoughts as I desperately tried to shake them off. Afterall, it was just a dream. Right?

"You alright, Azura?" Hange observed as I picked up the third glass of water in a row. I nodded, gulping the transparent liquid known to be tasteless, yet was the sweetest thing I could relish.

"Humanity is going to stretch beyond its limits today. I hope you give it your all!" She gave me an enthusiastic elbow bump which I smiled at. My nervousness decreased a bit, as I looked over the orange horizon. It would soon be dark. We'd already be out there by then. I sighed. If I were to die there, there were a few things I would like to do first. Starting with......

I tapped on the brown haired boy's shoulder clearing my throat or perhaps the initial awkwardness. His turquoise eyes lit up, I guessed he was already excited to take back his home. I expected that to dwindle once he saw me though.

"Gojo! We missed you!" He exclaimed. I patted his head, grinning. My grin faded as I took a breath.

"I'm sorry, I don't exactly regret anything but..you're good kids. You deserve more than just.. a white haired freak."

"Don't talk about yourself like that," Mikasa stepped forward with crossed arms. She held her face away from the scarf, which was rare to see. Armin agreed with her with a quick nod of his head.

I genuinely appreciated these kids. A relieved sigh escaped my dry lips. "Im glad, and this time I will protect you all."

I was placed with captain shorty to my misfortune, though I didn't exactly dislike the idea overall. I stood next to my horse, petting it. Unbelievable but, he seemed more confident than I was.

"Don't just stare at the horse, Gojo." Levi called me out from my thoughts in a moment.

I scrunched my face up in annoyance. I needed that. "Alright alright," I muttered, seating myself on the brown horse.

"Hey," he spoke sternly. "No funny business, and no dying. Erwin thinks you're a bloody hope for this mission. Along with Jaeger of course" he added.

"Aw, is shorty worried?" I teased him, sticking my tongue out at his disgusted face.

"Don't even dream about it," he gripped the reins of his horse and flipped his head to the direction of the gates. His raven locks were as perfect as always even in that tense situation. He really was a neat freak.

"SCOUTS, MOVE OUT!" The blonde commander's voice boomed across every nation possible as we raced towards the unknown. More precisely, wall Maria.

Darkness reigned over the time of day, sweeping its vast territory over the giant thicket of trees. The forest was flourishing, unlike humanity at stake. Everyone was on high alert, least to say, they were cautious. The occasional mutter between Eren and the others or the hooves of the horses made us aware of our own existence. It was horribly late, and many started to whine already.
