The Queen stood before the gathered Nymbrelins, her voice filled with gravity as she addressed them. "The time has come for each of you to fulfill your purpose," she began, her gaze sweeping over the group. "Krevathians are among us, hiding in the shadows, sowing chaos. They have infiltrated Earth, and each town is now threatened."
Sithu stood near the front, her heart pounding as she listened.
"There are only a few of you in each town, and many Krevathians. The balance is not in our favor," the Queen continued, her voice heavy with concern. "Some of you will face 20, 30, or even more. You must use your strongest qualities, your gifts, to find and defeat them. In your town, Sithu, there are 30 Krevathians. The responsibility to stop them falls on you."
Sithu's breath caught. Thirty Krevathians. And with Finn still too young to join the fight, she was on her own. The Queen's gaze softened as she spoke directly to her.
"Your strongest quality, justice, will be your greatest weapon. Trust in it. The battle ahead will be difficult, but you are not without strength."
Later that evening, back on Earth, Sithu met Jaren at their usual café, still reeling from the Queen's words. Jaren had always known about Nymbrelis—he had known for some time that Sithu came from another world. But he didn't yet know the full extent of the danger they were facing.
"You seem off today," Jaren said as they sat down, his eyes scanning her face. "Is everything okay?"
Sithu took a deep breath. "There's something I haven't told you. Not the whole story, at least." She hesitated before launching into an explanation about the Krevathian threat.
Jaren's eyes widened as she spoke, his expression growing more serious with every word. "So, you're saying these Krevathians—they're here, in our town?"
"Yes," Sithu replied, her voice soft but firm. "They're here, hidden. And they're influencing people, turning them against each other. That's why there's been so much aggression lately. My necklace can detect them, but there are 30 of them, Jaren. And I'm the only one who can stop them."
Jaren leaned back, absorbing the enormity of what she'd just said. "Thirty Krevathians. And you're supposed to handle this on your own?"
Sithu nodded, feeling the weight of it all pressing down on her. "It's my responsibility. I have to use my sense of justice to defeat them, one by one."
For a moment, Jaren was silent. Then, his resolve hardened. "Well, you're not doing it alone. I'm with you. Whatever it takes, we'll find a way to stop them."
Sithu felt a swell of gratitude, the tension in her chest easing just a little. "I couldn't ask for a better ally," she said with a small smile.
Jaren returned her smile, but there was a seriousness in his eyes. "This is bigger than I thought. But if anyone can do this, it's you. Just tell me what you need."
