The town had fallen into a tense silence, the kind that came before a storm. Sithu stood at the center of the square, watching as people gathered around her, uncertain but determined. They didn't know the full extent of the Krevathian threat; they didn't need to. What they understood was that something was wrong—people were acting strangely, and the town was teetering on the edge of chaos. That was enough to unite them, for now.
Jaren stood beside her, his face lined with weariness but lit with determination. He had spent the past few days in talks with local leaders, convincing them to help. Although they didn't understand the supernatural element, they were worried about the sudden changes in behavior throughout the town. It was enough to rally a force of people willing to stand up and fight for their home.
"We don't have much time," Jaren said, his voice low as he surveyed the crowd. "But we've got the support we need."
Sithu nodded, though her thoughts were still elsewhere. Kahdros. His name echoed in her mind, a shadow looming over everything. She had learned to tap into her powers without the necklace, but she knew Kahdros would be unlike any opponent she had ever faced. Still, with the town's leaders on their side and the community pulling together, she had to believe they had a chance.
Finn approached them, breathless but with a determined glint in his eyes. "I found something."
Both Sithu and Jaren turned to him, curiosity and urgency mixed in their expressions.
"What is it?" Sithu asked.
Finn glanced around, making sure no one was eavesdropping. "I followed one of the Krevathian scouts earlier today. They don't know it, but I overheard them talking. Kahdros is hiding just outside of town, near the old quarry. They're preparing for something big."
Sithu's heart pounded. The final battle. "Are you sure?"
Finn nodded. "I'm sure. They're setting up traps and gathering forces. It's all going to happen there."
Jaren's eyes darkened. "Then we have to move quickly. We won't get another chance like this."
Sithu stepped forward, her voice rising so everyone could hear. "Listen up! We've been facing something dark for a while now. I know you've all seen it—your neighbors, your friends, acting strange, like something's gotten into them. We're going to stop it, right here, right now. But I can't do it alone. I need all of you. Together, we can save this town."
The crowd murmured, exchanging uncertain glances, but they listened. They might not understand the Krevathian threat, but they understood enough to stand with her.
"We'll move at dawn," Jaren added, stepping beside Sithu. "We need to stop this before it spreads any further."
With a renewed sense of purpose, Sithu gathered her closest supporters. These people, unaware of the full scope of the battle they were about to face, still chose to believe in her. And that was enough.
Finn, for all his youth, had proven himself invaluable once again. His courage had given them a critical edge—Kahdros's location. Sithu placed a hand on his shoulder, smiling. "You've done more than I ever could have asked for. You've helped save us all."
Finn beamed but quickly grew serious. "Just make sure we finish this. Kahdros can't keep doing what he's doing."
Sithu's resolve hardened. "We will. Together."
As the preparations continued, Sithu felt the weight of what lay ahead. This would be their last stand against Kahdros and his forces. The future of Earth and Nymbrelis was at stake. There would be no turning back.
By the time the sun dipped below the horizon, Sithu, Jaren, Finn, and the rest of their allies were ready. Their forces weren't massive, but they were united in purpose. The showdown would come at dawn, and with it, the fate of everything they held dear.
Sithu gazed out over the assembled crowd, her heart pounding in her chest. This was it—their moment. Kahdros and his Krevathians had taken enough. Now, they would fight back.
As the night deepened, Sithu took one last look at the horizon, the weight of the coming battle settling over her. She was ready, and so were her allies. The final confrontation was coming, and one way or another, they would end this.
