Buck looks at the girl next to him. Her (y/h/c) falling over her shoulder as her (y/e/c) eyes focus on the book in-front of her.

Recently after almost two decades of friendship Buck's feelings had started to change about his best friend.

He started noticing small things he hadn't before. Things like how her lips parted slightly when she was focused or how she hums quietly to herself.

He started paying more attention to all those little things. Smiling every time he noticed a new one, almost falling love with them?

His feelings changed to one's he couldn't really describe. Like how he felt giddy at the mention of her name or how his breath caught in his throat when she touched him.

He found himself always wanting to be close to her, finding every excuse to be.

"Buck?", the sweet voice snaps him out of his thoughts. The girl looking back at him. He hadn't realised he'd been staring.

"Huh, yeah sorry?", he rambles.

"What are you staring out? Do I have something on my face?", she asks closing her book, a finger between pages keeping it marked.

"No, just lost in my thoughts.", he replies.

A strand of hair falls in front of the girls face. It takes everything in Buck to not reach out and move it behind her ear.

He must've looked like a love struck puppy every time he was around her, following her around to the ends of the earth.

Once she'd moved the hair from her face herself he felt his shoulder sag. Did he just miss another chance?

Buck always fell into situations were he could easily have made a move but he was always to scared to do so.

He hadn't even come to terms that he has a crush on his childhood best friend, or had he?

"Hey Y/n?", the girl takes her eyes away from her page once again at the sound of his voice.

"Yeah?", she says. Buck looked into her eyes. Desperate to know if she felt the same way he does. He searches her eyes but he can't find the answers there.
