The lock screen of my phone displayed the simple numbers of 1:04 am.

Dad was fast asleep down the hall, sleeping peacefully thinking I was doing the same.

I shove the phone into my back pocket and slide my jumper on.

We live in a two story house but under my window there's some trellis.

Sneaking out wasn't an uncommon thing for me to do. It was one of the only ways I got to hang out with my boyfriend Buck.

Dad didn't like Evan for a number of reasons. The two main ones being his motorcycle and his reckless behaviour but Buck was a good guy.

I climb out of the window and down the trellis carefully.

I was meant to be meeting my boyfriend at the park near my house then we would make our way to an old abandoned house.

The side walks were lit up by the street lights. Car's lined the sides of the roads but no one was in sight.

I edge closer to the park until I see my boyfriend sitting on one of the low log fences with his back turned to me.

I sneak up on him, yelling 'boo' as I shove his shoulders.

He jumps up with a startled and terrified expression. Once he realises it's me the look on his face changes to one of annoyance.

"Jesus Y/n. You almost gave me a heart attack.", Buck says pulling me into a tight hug. His arms wrap around my shoulders and he kisses my head.

"I'm sorry baby.", I giggle against his firm chest. He pulls away and takes my hand.

We begin to walk down the dimly lit pathway. I loved these nights. When we'd sneak out and explore, enjoying each others company with no one else around. I wasn't scared because I knew I could trust Buck and that he would protect me.

Buck jumps the fence first, sitting at the top and reaching down to help me up.

Thankfully this building wasn't prone to having squatters inside.

We hop down and make our way inside through our usual entrance.

Buck walks in front, both of us listening to see if anyone's inside. Seems empty.
