Thursday

I had been playing terribly. My mind has been a ruckus. I was out on four balls yesterday, I just made eight runs and I was out. Asshar was happiest yesterday. Stupid, doesn't even know the fact that we are teammates. But our team won the game and we are into the finals. I don't think I can make it the day after tomorrow but I really want to. Tanisha has been coming to all my matches.

Asfandyaar Bhai attends the one that is held in Delhi. Zubab bhabhi doesn't have time for it because of her appointments, though she attended one or two with Bhai. Izma came to a few that were in Delhi. Omar didn't attend even one. And I am sure Taniah must be watching it all on television. She is a huge fan of IPL. She has always supported Chennai. Afterall she was from Chennai.

“I don't understand what you are doing, Moosa.”

I heard from my manager. “Your game has just been worsening. Why are you acting this terrible?”

“It's not like I want to,” I said, picking up my water bottle and walking off from the stadium. I had come here for the practice match. It's 2034 and we still didn't get the trophy for RCB. Their craziness is debatable. The finals are to be held in Bangalore. A conversation between Tanisha and I in the morning struck my mind.

“You don't have to come to every match, Tanu. You don't have to feel this sympathy for me like I am alone.”

“I am not being sympathetic to you. I am just your friend.” As if those relations are a matter to me now. I feel bad for her. I feel like she is being forced because of me but even if I do backup, she might not want to. Omar. I didn't expect him to turn up now.

“What are you doing here?” I said, entering my room. “How did they let you enter my room? I don't include back stabbers.” I could see him rolling his eyes as he leaned in my bed. I went to take a shower and came back to him still being in that position.

“What?” I asked. “What what?” He asks. “Why are you here? You need to get out of my room, Omar.”

“I came to make a dream come true. A promise to be more precise.” I rolled my eyes and started blow drying my hair. “It would have been better if you worked on how people act in friendship.”

“Let's finally talk about this. I have nothing to lose…really.”

“Don't make it look like that. You snatched everything from me and have the guts to say that you don't have anything to lose. What a statement, Mr. Omar Abdullah.”

“Moosa… you need to hear me out first.”

“Yeah.. Where were you for the past month? Enjoying the privilege of being her fiancé.”

“This is your problem. You don't let people talk. You think you are always on the right side.” He yells sitting up and I sit in front of him with my black coffee. “Let me do what I came here for?”
